Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

Last Summer, I received a sample/travel sized Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation in my Love Lula Beauty Box. Even upon just a few uses, I knew I need to get a full size of this creamy cleanser – I was that impressed: a gentle cream and non-foaming cleanser, which quickly but also thoroughly removes makeup, including eye makeup, while also gently exfoliating the skin and leaving it soft. The ingredients, and there’s quite a lot of them, are also impressive. One of the best cleansers, makeup removers I’ve tried so far – and don’t ask me how many I’ve tried so far!

The Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation comes in a 50ml airless pump bottle, which means the product will not get contaminated – a very important factor when it comes to natural cosmetic products. Given this cleanser contains many ingredients, including many essential oils, its scent falls somewhere between floral and berry and buttery – non overpowering, yet pleasant.

The texture of this cleanser is like that of a mid-thick velvety cream, but with a sporadic exfoliators in a form of tiny crushed almonds. Even though this cleanser is water-based, it does not feel cheap or watery; in fact, it’s like a light, but thinly whipped butter, with an abundance of added vegetable and essential oils, all rich in an array of vitamins A, C, D, E and F.

Given Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation is so gentle and soft as an exfoliant, it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive as well as those, who suffer from acne: the tiny crushed almonds are here and there, yet still effective enough for this product to be used as a gentle exfoliant, even several times a week. The cleanser does not irritate the skin, does not leave it red, making it a great choice for a morning skincare routine as well.

While exfoliation is a must in my skincare routine and I have a few exfoliators, which are permanently on my cosmetic shelf, I did not get the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation for the (sole) purpose of exfoliation, but the fact it’s such an effective cleanser. First, it’s a non-foaming cleanser, meaning it won’t dry out the skin nor will it irritate it with, even gentler, foaming agents. Even if I don’t use layers and layers of makeup, I need a cleanser which thoroughly cleanses my skin in the evening, but does so without adverse effects on my skin.

Pure&Light says you should first splash the skin with water; instead, I spray a hydrolate all over my skin, then massage the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation all over my face, leaving it on my skin for about a minute, massage again and then rinse it with water. The end result makes this product not only a cleanser and gentle exfoliator, but also a nourishing and revitalising cream – as the skin is so soft and nourished with the many skin-beneficial ingredients; great for the days, or – rather – evenings, when you go to sleep without any products on your face and just let the skin be, since you’ve already cleansed, gently exfoliated and nourished the skin with this product.

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

Now, I know it says not to use this cleanser and gentle exfoliant on your eyes, but I had to give it a try anyway. I ordinary use an Alverde milk to remove my eye makeup, as my eyes are pretty sensitive to many of the makeup removers, even eye makeup removers. I know the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation contains tiny crushed almonds, so I understand the warning against using it as an eye makeup remover, but as mentioned, I had to give it a try after I was so impressed with how deeply, quickly and gently it removed makeup. Using just my fingers, I gently massaged the cleanser all over my closed eyes, and in a matter of 10, 15s, the eye makeup was melted and I just washed it off with water! So effective, so gentle and with no irritation at all! Given how difficult it is for me to find an effective and non-irritating eye makeup remover, I decided to save the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation to be used as an eye makeup remover. Sure, I do indulge in using it as a cleanser and gentle exfoliant for removal of makeup and sometimes even in my morning skincare routine, as it cleanses the skin and gently exfoliates, making the skin a perfect, smooth and soft canvas to apply other products on, but all in all, I am saving this one for removal of my eye makeup.

My final word?

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

The gentle exfoliant, which is in fact an effective creamy cleanser, suitable for any skin type – from being so gentle and velvety for the sensitive skin type, to being suitable for oily skin due to its many anti-bacterial ingredients, the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation took me by, pleasant, surprise upon trying the travel size – I had to get the full size. This gentle cleanser boasts of an impressive ingredients list, making it an antioxidant treat, along with vitamins, fatty acids and many other skin-beneficial ingredients. The part where this gentle creamy cleanser also plays the part of a gentle exfoliator, is an added bonus. Given how much I enjoy the effectiveness of the cleansing part, maybe Pure&Light could come up with the very same formulation, sans the exfoliants and make this only a cleanser.

Price? £28 for a 50ml bottle – which is not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination, especially if you use the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation as a cleanser and not only as an exfoliator a few times a week. But given the performance, formulation and ingredients list these £28 entail, I still, very much so, recommend this great product.
