With all the rain, chilly and moody weather, beautiful October all of the sudden seems so far… My morning skincare routine now consists of more oily textures, but since I use more creamy-based makeup, as well as more oily and nourishing – even layered – products in my evening skincare routine, I try not to overload my skin in the morning.
The links for all the products are the end of this post.
My Morning Skincare Routine: Cleansing
When I layer more products the previous evening (serum, mask, face oil), I opt for the affordable and nicely scented Alteya Organics Facial Cleanser & Wash in Vanilla & Geranium. I have just received the Alteya Organics Rose & Jasmine Facial Cleanser & Wash, and I can’t wait to give it a try. When I use just a light serum and a dab of face oil here and there the previous night, I opt for the Alteya Organics Cleanser, a gentle cream cleanser – also because when my evening skincare routine falls on the lighter side, I tend to use a facial mask in the morning, which means I’ll wash my face twice, and to not over-wash my face, I opt for this gentle cream cleanser.
My Morning Skincare Routine: Masking
As mentioned, when I use only a light serum and a dab of oil the previous evening, I use a facial mask the next morning. Once a week (with a few days in between) I use these two facial masks for a quick pick-me up: Madara Regene Volume Rebuilding Lifting Mask and Jane Scrivner Intense De-Stress Mask (full review here).
My Morning Skincare Routine: Toning
For toning, I keep the routine pretty much the same by switching (and mixing) between the uplifting and refreshing Alteya Organics Melissa Water, as it helps balance and control oily skin during the day and the calming Alteya Organics Chamomile Hydrolate.
My Morning Skincare Routine: Moisturizing
The hydration base has been, most often, the Fom London Hydra Plump Serum (read my full review here) – as it’s a light. watery and fast absorbing. For the mornings, where my previous evening skincare routine has been a bit richer and layered, I apply Madara Deep Moisture Fluid. If my evening skincare routine has been lighter, I apply, after a serum, either a drop of L’Odaites Replenishing Serum (read my full review here) or the BeBarefaced Vitamin C and E Corrective Oil, which I’ve just started incorporating in my skincare routines and my skin is enjoying this affordable fast absorbing oil. For the eyes, I continue using the light Madara Eye Contour Cream (read my full review here).
My Morning Skincare Routine: Priming and SPF
I may not apply as a generous amount of this primer as during hot Summer days, but I still, nonetheless use it – just a bit more sparingly – the Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25 (read my full review here).
My Morning Skincare Routine In Short:
- Cleansing: Alteya Organics Gentle Cream Cleanser; Alteya Organics Facial Cleanser & Wash
- Masking: Madara Regene Volume Building Lifting Mask; Jane Scrivner Intense De-Stress Mask
- Toning: Alteya Organics Melissa Water; Alteya Organics Chamomile Water
- Moisturizing: FOM London Skincare Anti – Pollution Hydra Plump Serum; BeBarefaced Vitamin C and E Corective Oil; Madara Deep Moisture Fluid; Madara Eye Contour Cream
- Priming and SPF: Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25
Depending on my previous evening skincare routine, I adjust my morning skincare accordingly: when I use richer and oilier textures, along with masks, and layered, I opt for a lighter morning skincare routine.
