Oh, how quickly the seasons change – just one month ago, my makeup routine was in line accordingly to a hot Summer weather – very minimal and light. With September, a more chilly weather arrived and my makeup routine adapted to it by incorporating more creamy textures and a bit more eye color here and there.
My Makeup Routine: Foundation
Gradually, I am switching from loose mineral powder to more creamy textures. Currently, I am using Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation (full review here). It’s a light foundation, which offers a buildable coverage, but I use just a tiny bit of it to even out my skin tone; the goal is not to achieve a full coverage, at all, just that natural finish with a healthy glow. Alternatively, I am starting to use the Lavera 2-1 Compact Foundation more often. For application of the Lavera foundation, I use sponge that comes with it: I gently swipe the foundation on my face, a bit here and there, just as I would dab here and there a liquid foundation, and then use the Ere Perez Multipurpose Brush to thoroughly blend the foundation. Again, just a tiny amount of the foundation. If applied with the sponge, I’ve found there’s too much foundation on my face and eventually, it becomes very visible and since it also tends to oxidize, it’s not a good look. Some type of primer is a must with this foundation – whether it’s a light serum, Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25 (full review here) or Ere Perez Moringa All-Beauty Creme. After priming/SPF, I apply Dr Hauschka Light Reflecting Concealer. For setting, I use a tiny amount of Benecos Natural Translucent Powder (full review here) and Alverde Rose Toner as a setting spray.
My Makeup Routine: Eye Makeup
As always, my eye makeup is minimal, but I’m starting to add a bit more color now with earthly tones found in the Ere Perez Chamomile Eyeshadow Palette (full review here) – a mixture of the lighter brown and copper ones. The mascara I’ve been using is NATorigin Lengthening Mascara (I’ve got it in my June Love Lula Beauty Box). It’s a light-wearing and feeling mascara, giving a very natural look for daytime.
My Makeup Routine: Blush & Highlighter
With a hint of a copper color on my eyes, I pick the Alverde cream blush in light gentle pretty pink or RMS Beauty Lip2cheek in Demure from RMS Beauty Signature Set – Pop Collection (full review here); I apply it with my fingers first and then blends it with Ere Perez Multipurpose Brush. For a bit of a glow, I add a tiny amount of RMS Beauty Living Luminizer.
My Makeup Routine: Lipsticks
The classic dusty pink nude that is Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick in High Tea has been my choice lately (full review here), along with the RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile with an obligatory lip balm before, as it’s very pigmented, and the beautiful Joik Pastel Silky Lip Balm (from my May Love Lula Beauty Box) for a very natural look.
My Makeup Routine: Almost Barefaced
When opting for an even more minimal makeup look, I go with first priming/SPF with Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25, followed by a tiny drop of Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation, Alverde blush and Dr Hauschka Light Reflecting Concealer. And Joik Pastel Silky Lip Balm for a finished minimal makeup look.
In short, here is how my makeup routines look like:
- foundation: Ere Perez Quinoa Water Foundation; Lavera 2-1 Compact Foundation
- eye makeup: NATorigin mascara, Ere Perez Chamomile Eyeshadow Palette
- blush & highlighter: RMS Beauty Living Luminizer; RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile; Alverde Blush; Dr Hauschka Light Reflecting Concealer
- lipsticks: Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick in High Tea; Joik Tinted Lip Balm; RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile
- SPF protection/priming: Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25
- setting: Alverde Rose Toner as a setting spray; Benecos Translucent Powder
