If my previous Summer makeup routine consisted of (still) quite a number of makeup products, this one has even less; it’s been a very hot Summer, and just like my morning skincare routines and evening skincare routines, my makeup routine has been as minimal as possible.
My Makeup Routine: Foundation
If around June, I was still wearing the Ere Perez Water Foundation, I’ve soon switched to only Inika Loose Mineral Foundation (full review here) – while a full coverage is easily achieved with this excellent mineral foundation, during the hot Summer, I usually apply only a thin layer of this foundation – one swipe. It works great with another excellent product – the Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25 (full review here). If need be, I tend to small inconveniences with my RMS “Un” CoverUp Concealer (full review here), likewise a tiny amount under my eyes.
My Makeup Routine: Eye Makeup
The only eye product I’ve been wearing, and even that no often, is the NATorigin Lengthening Mascara (I’ve got it in my June Love Lula Beauty Box). It’s a light-wearing and feeling mascara, giving a very natural look for daytime during this incredibly hot weather – or just as natural look as possible in general. If anything, I’d use the Benecos Translucent Powder (full review here) on my eyelids, to achieve a matte look and to control oiliness. Maybe, here and there, a bit of RMS Beauty Living Luminizer in the corner of my eyes – just a tad bit.
My Makeup Routine: Blush & Highlighter
For a pop of color, I’ve been using the RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile from the Signature Set: Mod Collection as a blush. From time to time I’ve been using Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipsticks as a blush as well – and why not, right? For a bit of an illumination, a tiny bit of RMS Beauty Living Luminizer.
My Makeup Routine: Lipsticks
Just as with everything else, I’ve been quite minimal with the use of lipsticks as well. From all the Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipsticks (full review here), I’ve been mostly using the Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick in Picnic. For an even more minimal look, I’ve been alternating between RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile with an obligatory lip balm before, as it’s very pigmented, and the beautiful Joik Pastel Silky Lip Balm (from my May Love Lula Beauty Box).
My Makeup Routine: Almost Barefaced
Many days, I’ve been opting for an even more minimal, even barefaced makeup look. Using the Alteya Organics SPF Cream, which also works as a moisturizing primer, giving a healthy sheer tinted glow, I’d follow with a bit of Dr Hauschka Light Reflecting Concealer under the eyes, a tiny dot here and there of the RMS “Un” CoverUp Concealer if there’s a spot or something, which I then set with the Benecos Translucent powder, usually using my pinky finger, followed by just a tiny and light swipe of Inika Loose Mineral Bronzer and RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile and RMS Beauty Living Luminizer. For the lips, I go with the Joik Pastel Lip Balm. Light, minimal, fresh.
In short, here is how my morning skincare routines look like:
- foundation: Inika Loose Mineral Foundation
- eye makeup: NATorigin mascara
- blush & highlighter: RMS Beauty Living Luminizer; RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile; Alverde Blush; Dr Hauschka Light Reflecting Concealer
- lipsticks: Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick in Picnic; Joik Tinted Lip Balm; RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile
- SPF protection/priming: Alteya Organics Rose Otto Face Sunscreen SPF25
- bronzing & setting: Alverde Rose Toner as a setting spray; Benecos Translucent Powder; Inika Mineral Bronzer
All my routines, morning, evening and makeup ones are light during the Summer, and the makeup routine one is especially subtle, as natural looking as possible with as minimal amount of products used as possible and not all at once.
For some of the products I’ve already posted a full review and some will be reviewed soon, so make sure you check back.
