With a start of September, it’s gotten colder – quickly, thus the need to adapt my evening skincare routine, adding more creamy textures as opposed to just water-based ones.
My Evening Skincare Routine: Cleansing
As I’m gradually switching my makeup routine, so follows my evening skincare routine as well, including the cleansing products I use – if during hot weather, I use only one cleanser, I am now switching to double cleansing, most of the times. I start with the creamy Alteya Organics Gentle Cleanser followed by Alteya Organics Facial Cleanser & Wash in Vanilla & Geranium: it gently cleanses and removes any of the remaining impurities. I’ve been using the a lighter Kathleen Cleansing Lotion, mostly in my morning skincare routine, but since I’ve discovered this all-around excellent cleanser thoroughly but gently removes eye makeup, I’ve decided to save it for this purpose only, since I find it hard to find an eye makeup remover which does not irritate my eyes.
My Evening Skincare Routine: Toning
As always, and this does not change regardless of the season, I use an abundant amount of hydraolates; I use either Alteya Chamomile Hydrolate or Alteya Organics Lavender Hydrolate or a mixture of both – after cleansing and after moisturising as well.
My Evening Skincare Routine: Moisturizing
While I still use water-based products, specifically serums, I am switching now to more creamy and rich textures, gradually. I still use Fom London Anti-Pollution Hydra Plump Serum but more often Ere Perez Quandong Green Booster Serum. Both serums are water-based, light, very hydrating and quickly absorbing – and likewise, quickly disappearing, as my skin is drinking them up. Following serums, I apply a thin coat of of Jane Scrivner OO Cream. A few times a week I use the light, cooling and refreshing Madara Deep Moisture Fluid (got it in my Love Lula Beauty Box). For the yes, I use a thin layer of Madara Eye Contour Cream (from my August Love Lula Beauty Box). For the neck area, I am using a thin layer of Nature’s Kitchen Rescue Cream (from my August Love Lula Beauty Box), a thick and rich cream, making it a great choice as an over-night neck mask. Moisturizing products are always followed by a generous amount of spraying of hydrolates.
My Evening Skincare Routine: Masking
On evenings, when I mask, I try to follow up with a very minimal skincare routine, and sometimes, I only apply a generous amount of hydrolates and nothing else. Currently I am using Clockface Charcoal Face Mask to draw out excess of oil and prevent potential clogged pores and Bloomtown Soothing Mask (full review here).
My Evening Skincare Routine: Exfoliating
As it’s been for many years now, I used my trusted Andalou Naturals Lemon Sugar Facial Scrub about once a week, and likewise, about once a week I use Madara Active AHA Brightening Peel Mask (full review here).
My Evening Skincare Routine In Short:
- Cleansing: Alteya Organics Gentle Cleanser, Alteya Organics Facial Cleanser & Wash in Vanilla & Geranium and Kathleen Naturals Cleansing Lotion
- Toning: Alteya Organics Chamomile and Lavender Hydrolates;
- Moisturising: Fom London Anti-Pollution Hydra Plump Serum; Ere Perez Quandong Green Booster Serum; Jane Scrivner OO Cream; Nature’s Rescue Cream; Madara Gel Moisturiser; Madara Eye Contour Cream
- Masking: Bloomtown Soothing Mask, Clockface Charcoal Face Mask
- Exfoliating: Andalou Naturals Lemon Sugar Facial Scrub; Madara Peel Mask
While light water-based serums are still a part of my evening skincare routine, I am gradually adding more creamy and rich textures; especially for the neck area, my skin craves richer textures.
