Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask, with its lovely powdery scent, provides hydration and softness to the skin in need of an instant hydration boost.
Is your skin feeling dull and in an urgent need of a hydration pick me up boost? Then Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask will deliver – just as it promises! Masking is one of the essential parts of my skin care routine, whether it’s a (mostly) clay-based mask to suck out impurities, or a hydration mask. Sometimes, when pressed for time but in need of a quick hydration boost, just a hydration mask will do as well.
Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask is part of Madara’s pink SOS Hydra line, providing a complete skin care package of products, targeting dull and dehydrated skin. It comes in a cute pink 60ml tube; I guess the first thing you’ll notice is also a cute pink color of the mask, followed closely by a pleasant powdery scent.
The Madara SOS Hydra Mask’s consistency is somewhat…watery creamy; almost like a light moisturizing cream and not at all thick. You will immediately notice the soft, gentle and most of all – velvety texture and this is exactly how it works on the skin as well.
I’ve been using the Madara SOS Hydra Mask about twice as week: once a week after using a clay mask and exfoliation and once a week over a facial oil. From time to time, I use this mask alone, or just a bit here and there, where skin might be flaky or extra dehydrated. The mask can wiped off after a certain amount of time or left to work its magic through the night – and this is exactly what I’ve been doing. The mask absorbs quickly, does not feel greasy and the feeling the mask leaves on the skin is velvety almost immediately.
While it takes time for every product to see the actual results long-term, there are some visible results upon using a product just once – and thus letting you know in which direction the product will go. The immediate results of using Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask just once are quite visible the next morning: the skin got its much needed hydration boost and it looks soft and – velvety, just like the mask’s texture.
With a prolonged use (I’ve been using this mask for about a year now), I can report that the skin gets used to receiving an extra hydration: the skin is soft and looking rested and radiant, flaky parts softened. As the mask contains also the anti-aging properties, the results will be visible after using it for a while. As far as the ingredients go, I do have one bone to pick with this mask – alcohol; I am not certain why there’s alcohol in so many of the Madara products, though I have to point out I did not experience the negative and very drying effects with this mask as I did with Madara toners.
The mask is welcomed by the skin after mask-cleansing and peeling routine, as the skin is cleaned and opened for hydration. As mentioned, once as week I also use this mask over a facial oil, to lock in all the vitamins and minerals and to double hydration.

My final word?
Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask delivers what it promises: a hydration boost to your skin and a radiant skin, which is soft and velvet to the touch. With a regular use, you’ll notice this even more. It works well when used alone or in a combination with a facial oil; the skin is especially thankful, if you use this mask after a clay-based mask and/or exfoliation. The mask contains ingredients, which deliver hydration and anti-aging as well as anti-inflammatory benefits.
Price? 40€ for 60 ml. Might be expensive at a first glance, but given its beneficial to the skin aspects, and the fact that I still have, after a year, about 1/5 of it left, and that is after using it at least twice a week – I’d say it’s a good deal. I’m glad that after being somewhere in the middle of the tube, I got another Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask in my December Love Lula Beauty Box, which means I am set with this great hydrating mask for quite some time now.
