Yep, another month has rolled over, and with it – this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box. It contains a nice selection of various skincare and body care products – from lip balm, to all-purpose balm, a bath truffle, a few sample sachets, a cleanser and – depending on your location – either a sample set of Walden Natural Perfumes or a sample set of Oils of Heaven oils.
September’s Beauty Box is worth £45, however, with a subscription to Love Lula’s monthly Beauty Box, you can get it for the price of one product in the box – from £13,95 on. With the Beauty Box comes also a discount code of 20% on all the brands from the current Beauty Box as well.
As you know, this is only my first impressions review – a few of the products will receive a detailed review post later on.
So, what’s in September’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ Esse Gel Cleanser, 10ml tube: given my skin does not response well to foam-based cleansers, I mainly use oil-based cleansers. But, given the ingredients, I thought this cleanser might be different, as it contains one of the most gentle foaming agents – Coco-Glucoside, to which my skin does not react negatively. Again, this is only a first and quick impression of the cleanser: it has a minty scent (those, who are allergic to minty essential oils, such as peppermint and spearmint – this cleanser might not be the right choice for you) due to minty essential oils, which also give the fresh and a bit tingly feeling. The foaming is quite minimal – which I prefer anyway – and the texture is more of a creamy foaming – hope this makes sense. After massaging a small amount of the cleanser, I rinse it off with warm water. This cleanser thoroughly, yet gently, removes makeup and any other impurities. Contrary to many foaming cleansers, this one leaves the skin soft, non-irritated and not dried. The bonus is this cleanser contains Salicylic Acid, an acid great for oily and acne prone skin. I’ve already had a few Esse products on my “to try” list, so needless to say, my interest was peaked to try the full size of this cleanser – it comes in two sizes – 100ml and 200ml. And that’s one of the charms of Beauty Boxes – they introduce you to the brands and products you may not have noticed or had them on a wishlist but never quite managed to give them a try yet.
♥ Hurraw! Sun protection Lip Balm – can you ever go wrong with the Hurraw! lip balms? I’ve already reviewed a handful of Hurraw! lip balms here, and in short – I am a big fan. This lip balm is another great one from the Hurraw! brand – it contains an SPF 15, and it’s a treat for lips – so creamy, so soft and smells awesome – a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of vanilla, a little bit of a citrusy scent and a distant chamomile scent – yum! I can never have enough Hurraw! lip balms, and this one is just another great addition to the group.
♥ Joik Bath Truffle – for a chocolate addict, not taking a bite out of this truffle is quite a success. Haven’t tried this one yet, but I tend to use it for my Sunday baths – this truffle will come handy, many times over, during winter days (though, quite honestly, it feels like winter already, with this cold and blah weather). Going just by the first feel, this truffle is a buttery treat for skin. I’ll keep you updated once I give it a thorough try.
♥ Balm Balm Beauty Balm full size 60ml – heavily rich and nourishing beauty balm, that can be used for basically anything – as a cleanser, facial mask, mild exfoliator, hand cream, body balm, lip balm… you name it. Lovely scent, with lavender being prevailing. It would be too oily to be used as a daily moisturizer, especially for oily skin, although maybe even for dry skin – but – if you have any dry patches – go for it. I’ve already reviewed the Balm Balm Rose Collection, which also includes an all-purpose balm; this balm is pretty similar. Generous amount of an affordable multi-use balm.
♥ Kimberly Sawyer multi pack samples – haven’t given them a try yet, but since I’ve aquired quite a few samples of this brand, and haven’t tried them yet, I’ll reserve a pampering spot for these samples to see how my skin likes them. Aside from these, Love Lula carries a wide selection of samples to try before you buy a full sized product.
♥ Oils of Heaven Gift Set of the following oils: cacay oil, moringa oil, marula oil, rosehip oil and moringa oil. There’s 5ml of each of the oils- This gift set can be used as a gift, you can use the oils while traveling or for mixing them into your own personal facial oil. I’ve already reviewed the cacay oil and moringa oil and I’ll review a few more in the future. The gift set itself is worth £20.
♥ Walden Natural Perfumes Gift Set for UK residents only (unfortunately; but I plan on getting my hands on these cuties eventually, since I like the Two Eternities so much); the gift set contain 5ml of all the Walden Natural Perfumes. I’ve reviewed the Walden Natural Perfumes “Two Eternities” Perfume a while ago, and mentioned, how I wish the perfumes came in smaller sizes – one for carrying it around in a purse and a set of sample sizes, so we can test all of them (as the full size of the perfumes may be a bit too expensive to just try them) – and – what do you know – just a few weeks later, Love Lula (Walden Natural Perfumes is Love Lula’s own brand) came out with a travel sized 15ml spray perfumes, to carry them in a purse, as well as with this gift set of 5ml of each of the perfumes so we can all test them. As mentioned earlier, this set was included only in the Beauty Box for UK residents.
