Nov 222017

A gloomy, grey and cold has this November been so far, but when you receive a much anticipated Love Lula Beauty Box … This month’s beauty box contains hair care, skincare and makeup products – and a total worth of it is £60!

As preciously mentioned, Love Lula’s Beauty Box does not only fall under a great deal for containing products (many of them full-sized, mind you) worth up to £60, for example, but because you can get it for around £13-£14 for a yearly subscription as well as 20% discount for all the brands in a current Beauty Box . Well, it’s the Holiday season, right, so now Love Lula has an additional 20% discount on a yearly subscription – and that, I think, is a major great deal!

Below you’ll find my first impressions of this month’s Beauty Box products; most of these products will receive a full review once thoroughly tested, and I am planning on buying a full size of one of the products… well, 3 out of 5 products are already full size as it is – great deal, indeed!

So, what’s in November’s Beauty Box?

Love Lula Beauty Box November 2017

Inika Organic Lipstick in Naked Kiss (4,2g/£18). Inika recently re-launched their products and I’ve been testing some of their products for the reviews to come soon. The packaging is really elegant. The Naked Lips lipstick is a shimmering mauve color – quite pigmented, so if you prefer a more subtle color, I’d suggest using a lipbalm and a more light-handed application. They staying power of this lipstick is pretty strong and does not run. With shea butter and jojoba oil, this lipstick is very nourishing and softening, while also feeling very light on the lips. While I prefer matte lipsticks, this lipstick is nonetheless very pretty and elegant – especially for evening, but as mentioned, you can achieve a natural look by light application as well as by using lipbalm as well. I’m having two other Inika lipsticks on my wishlist: Honeysuckle and Nude Pink but above all – Inika’s liptints caught my eye!

Madara Smart Eye Rescue Cream (15ml/£31). I remember well over 10 years ago I had this eye cream from a German natural brand Alverde, which had a velvety soft finish and would have a lift effect – basically would smooth out fine lines while giving a rested and hydrated look. This Madara eye cream comes very close, if not even surpassing, those effects. A while ago I reviewed another Madara eye cream (read all my Madara reviews), and while that one is excellent for night routine, the Madara Smart Eye Rescue Cream is excellent for day wear, especially under makeup. It acts almost like a concealer – it smooths the fine lines, giving a smooth velvety look. Very impressive, and given how much I like the previously reviewed Madara eye cream, I would have, sooner rather than later, get this one as well – had it not arrive in my Beauty Box. I have to point out another aspect – the scent – I am really liking it! it’s so Worth to mention – just this eye cream alone is over two times the cost of the whole Beauty Box. Naturally, this is only my first impressions look into this cream – it will receive a full and detailed review after I thoroughly test it, but even after a few applications, I can say we’re talking about a great skincare product!

Laidbare Working 9 to 5 Anti-aging Cream (50ml/£7,99). Laidbare is know for their affordable products (read my previous reviews of Laidbare products) and this one is no different – a whooping 50ml cream for only £7,99. The texture of this cream is very light and almost like a runny lotion. It has a very pleasant scent, with the scent of roses being prevailing – yes! It absorbs very quickly and would be suitable for all skin types – even oily ones. Excellent for a quick morning routine, while also being sure your skin will receive hydration. A little of this cream goes a long way, so the generous tube of 50ml will last you the whole winter! This cream will receive its full review once I thoroughly test it.

REN Perfect Canvas – Skin Enhancing Priming Serum (2ml sample). I’ve been having this priming serum from REN on my wishlist ever since it came out not too long ago. A natural serum, which also works as a makeup primer? Yes, please. This priming serum is without silicones, so that’s a major plus. Yes, this is a tiny sample of only 2ml, and I may have gone a bit overboard with the amount I used – the thing is, this priming serum just – disappears into your skin, so I thought I may not be using enough of it. It makes the skin look and feel smoothed out and tightened. I did play a bit with adding it to my other cream primer, as well as to moisturizer before applying makeup, and I plan on mixing it with my BB creams and foundations as well. I am really liking what I’ve seen so far, but for a thorough review – especially since this priming serum is more on an expensive side – you’ll have to wait until I try, test and review a full sized product; I’ve been planning on getting it anyway, so when the Love Lula reminded me about it with its beauty box – and I have now finally given it a small test, this REN priming serum jumped higher on my wishlist.

The Seaweed Bath Co. Shampoo and Conditioner (samples) – I do use quite a lot of shampoo and conditioner when washing my hair, so these two sample sachets were not enough to be adequately used, but here’s what I can tell you: the ones I got are eucalyptus and peppermint and both the shampoo and conditioner are quite – minty and refreshing. I dig the retro look of packaging/typography. But for a more detailed review, I’d need a bit more product to give it a good try.
