Have you, too been pondering about maybe getting a boat? If you ask me, rain has worn out its welcome by now, and should really make way for some sunshine. Speaking of sunshine, Love Lula Beauty Box, whether I decide to sneak around to get a peak of what’s in the current Beauty Box before it arrives or not, always cheers up, even on grey days, wouldn’t you agree? This month’s Beauty Box contains another great selection of green beauty goodies with 4 full sized products and one sample sachet, nicely rounded body care and skin care products of a £67. The actual cost for a monthly Beauty Box when you subscribe is barely worth mentioning, though you will find all the needed info at the end of this month’s first impressions of all the goodies from May’s Beauty Box. I am most excited about the tinted lip balm and the mask, which I’ve had on my wish list for quite some time now.
So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ Madara Re-Gene Lifting Mask (60ml/£35,00). Yes! I had this mask on my wishlist since the moment Madara launched this new collection. I was going back and forth whether to order it, but I had a feeling one of these months, Love Lula will throw in my Beauty Box soon. The color of this mask is the first thing that caught my eye: it’s a beautiful grey and muted violet one. The texture of the mask is medium thick and very creamy and smooth; it’s applies so easily. After five or so minutes, the mask starts to dry out, but not in a way a clay mask would; it’s almost leaves a film on the skin, like a very rich face cream would, yet it does not feel dry. It does not pull the skin either. I leave it on for at least 20 min, and just gently rise with warm water. I like the way my skin feels after I use this mask: it feels and looks plump, rested, soft. It also works nicely for skin preparation in the morning, before applying makeup. The price is reasonable; there’s 60ml of this mask, and I suspect I’ll be enjoying the pampering for about a year. The mask will receive a full review soon, after I put it through a thorough testing, but based on my first impressions, I am already liking it.
♥ Joik Pastel Silky Lip Balm (7g/£6,00). Oh, hello there, cutie! What a pretty pastel tinted lip balm. I’m always excited when Love Lula throws a lip balm in my Beauty Box, and this Joik lip balm is fabulous! It’s almost like a lipstick, but since it’s not as pigmented, it has that natural look to it. The color is after my taste, too, especially since I adore pastel colors: a mixture of nude and light mauve, and even though it’s a (tinted) lip balm, it gives a pretty and subtle look on the lips. It feels, indeed, silky, but moreso – velvety and soft on the lips. It’s made of Cacao seed butter and lips-beneficial oils, such as castor, jojoba and avocado. Lovely, in an elegant minimalist black tube. The price is also very reasonable. I am tempted to try a few other Joik lip balms. Of course.
♥ Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Lotion (300ml/£16,00). Dang, there’s a lot of hand lotion in this bottle – 300ml! The texture is thin and almost runny, and it feels very light on the skin. The softness on the skin is felt immediately. The scent is also pleasant, not overpowering: quite citrusy, but also a bit of geranium is noted. It absorbs quite easily and quickly, though too much should not be applied. Given there’s so much hand lotion in this bottle, and the light, fast absorbing of the lotion, I’m gonna opt for using it as a body lotion as well, because otherwise, I’ll never use it up. I really do not like the fact this lotion contains Phenoxyethanol though. Potassium Sorbate (and added Sodium Benzoate) should be enough.
♥ Ayumi Body Scrub (200ml/£6,99). This is my first time trying anything from this brand (that’s one of the perks of Love Lula Beauty Box – getting to try new products and brands). The body scrub is a clear mixture of gel and body wash. The exfoliation comes in a form of olive seed powder; the exfoliants are fine and plentiful, making it effective yet gentle enough for more frequent body exfoliation. The scent is also quite pleasant: a bit oriental and woody. The way I use this body scrub by pouring it on my sponge, and since this body scrub foams, I massage it all over before using a body wash. If you wish to use it only a certain parts of the body, such as elbows, feet, I’d suggest you pour a bit in your palms and rub it against the skin. Speaking of foaming, this body scrub contains quite a few foaming agents, and while none of them are SLS, some may find it a bit too harsh. The price is very low for a standard body scrub such as this. I’ve put a few of the Ayumi products on my wish list, mainly, their hair oils.
♥ Vestige Verdant Peat Mask Sample (50ml/£39,00 for full size).

This concludes my first impressions of Love Lula Beauty Box for the month of May. I was most excited about the pretty, velvety Joik pastel lip balm, and of course, Madara Re-Gene mask. The body scrub is OK, I especially like the scent and the fact it’s a gentle due to fine olive seed oil powder, but there may be a bit too many foaming agents in it for my liking. The Seascape hand lotion also smells nice, is light and makes the skin soft, along with it being in a huge 300ml bottle, which will be, mainly used as a body lotion. Though, at the moment, I am a bit surrounded with too many body lotions. All in all – 4 ful sized products, 2 for face and 2 for body, along with a mask sample. What can I say, Love Lula is spoiling me!
And all these products have a total value of £67,00, whereas the actual cost of the yearly Love Lula Beauty Box subscription is £12,66 (or £16,60 for international customers) per month (yep, even less than it was before). You also get a discount on all the brands featured in a current Beauty Box and even this discount got even better – now you can get all the brands featured in a Beauty Box for 25% off!
