First week of Spring (finally!) and here’s my March Love Lula Beauty Box! This month, Love Lula kept on throwing the green beauty goodies into the Beauty Box: there’s a total of 6 products, 3 full sized, two middle sized and one travel sized. The products cover hair care (shampoo and conditioner), face care (a facial oil, a face serum, a face cream) and body care (a deodorant). Of course, as every month, I had to do some sneaking around to see what’s in this month’s Beauty Box, and saw the beautiful new nail color from Glossworks Spring collection; I know there are shipping restrictions for nail polish outside of UK, but please allow me a minute to throw a mini tantrum for not receiving that beautiful nail polish. OK. *inhales* Still, even without the nail polish, this month’s Beauty Box is quite awesome and worth £48. Keep in mind that these are my first impressions of the products; many products will receive a full review in the future after being thoroughly tested.
So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ FOM London Hydra Bright Night Complex (10ml/£79 for a full 50ml size). I was hoping I won’t like this serum as it’s £79 for a full 50ml size. Alas, I’m chirping over this serum! A runny gel-like serum, loaded with super skin-beneficial ingredients, such as bilberry fruit, sugar maple, fig and green tea extracts, along with Lactic and Hyaluronic Acid and natural BHA acid – willow bark extract. It’s a BHA and AHA, all at once, serum, containing many moisturizing ingredients. The scent is a delicious geranium one – right after my heart. You could hear my skin going “slurp slurp” – it’s absorbed almost immediately, leaving the skin so incredibly soft. Given how smooth the skin looks, I had to try it as a makeup primer – and it works wonders as a primer! It will be excellent to use as a primer under the mineral powder during Summer, as it’s like a completely matte finish, the makeup glides smoothly and stays put all day. The full size is quite expensive, and I wish this serum was available in the 10ml bottle (it comes with a dropper) as well; not only it’s cheaper, but I prefer smaller sizes, so I can use up the product sooner and thoroughly. Wow, what a serum!
♥ Elsa’s Organic Skinfoods Deodorant (full size 45g/£10). I’m already testing the Love Deodorant from Elsa’s; in this month’s Beauty Box, I got the Ocean one. I’m really liking the shape of these deodorants – it’s an oval one – thus application is more handy. The deodorants are soft and quite buttery, the scent long lasting. It is a bit on a smaller side and I found myself going through the Love one quite fast. As it’s a bit more buttery/oily, unfortunately, it can leave oily stains – but I’ve learned you should not swipe it too many times. Full review coming your way soon!
♥ Sukin Shampoo and Conditioner (shampoo: travel size 100ml/£9,95 for a full 500ml size; conditioner: £7,95 for 250ml). I’m glad the sample/travel sizes of these two are bigger (1ooml each), so I can test them better. I’m testing another Sukin hair care duo, so I’ll include these two in my full review soon. But quickly: shampoo may not lather as richly, but cleanses the hair properly nonetheless. A small amount of conditioner and the hair is soft and easily combed through. Neither, the shampoo nor the conditioner do not feel heavy or greasy. The scent of all these Sukin hair care products give me a licorice-sih and minty vibes. The price is very low for generous amount of, especially, shampoo. I could, most certainly, do without PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate though.
♣ Laidbare Guess My Age Face Cream (full size 50ml/£9,99). Light texture, which lingers on the skin for a bit, making it seem it won’t absorb fast – but it does. I’m not sure whether my skin is really *that* dehydrated, but this cream just… vanished. It contains quite a few vitamins and an anti-aging Exotic Passion Flower Oil. What’s making me, given my skin is acne-prone, pause is the fact this cream contains Isopropyl myristate, which is highly comedogenic; if your skin is not prone to acne, then you should be fine, but I, however, will exercise caution with this cream precisely due to this ingredient. Since I have another Laidbare cream waiting in line to be tested, I’ll post a full review of both.
♥ Balm Balm Frankincense Light Facial Oil (full size 30ml/£15,50). Ingredients-wise, this is a simple formulation containing oils, with which you can never go wrong: jojoba and rosehip oil, along with rejuvenating and uplifting Frankincense oil from Balm Balm’s Frankincense collection. Affordable facial oil of a generous amount. But this is as much as I can say at the moment, as I am still testing/using a few other facial oils, so I left this one unopened for the time being; I do not practice having open 10 facial oils, only for most to then go to waste. So, having said that, this facial oil will receive its full review once I open it; given how many Balm Balm products I’ve already tried, I am certain it’s a good-quality facial oil.
♥ As mentioned earlier, the UK Beauty Boxes received Glosswork Come Clay with Me nail polish, and since I’m still pouting over it, I’ll just post the photo of the nail polish, grab my
toys other products from this month’s Beauty Box and go home. There.
