My Love Lula Beauty Box arrived a bit late this month, but nonetheless – it’s here and 3 out of 4 products in this month’s Beauty Box are quite awesome; 3 products are full-sized and a total worth of February’s Beauty Box is £65! Given how much I’ve been enjoying the Madara masks (review soon!), I’ve had their milk scrub on my wish list for quite some time now and – what do you know – it came as a surprise in my Love Lula Beauty Box (just kidding about the surprise part – I sneak around to see if the Love Lula Beauty Box is already out and what’s in it before I receive it, tee hee). Unfortunately, there’s one product in this month’s Beauty Box which does not belong  – anywhere, for that matter. Keep in mind that this post is about my first impressions of the products; some will receive a full review in the near future.

So, what’s in February Love Lula Beauty Box?

Love Lula Beauty Box February 2018

Madara Exfoliating Oil-to-Milk Scrub (60ml/£24). As mentioned, I had this product on my wishlist for quite some time now and it will receive a full review soon – but for now – my first impressions. A generous amount of 60ml and quite affordable price, this scrub has a sweet chewing gum scent. Its texture is a smooth, clear mixture of a gel-like thick oil and tiny wax microbeads, which gently exfoliate. Upon application, I gently massage the oil; eventually it becomes warm. I then wet my face with warm water and the oil turns into a creamy milk. I continue adding water, until the scrub is washed off. The scrub acts like a cleanser as well, resulting in a clean and smooth skin. Given its tiny exfoliating microbeads, this scrub is suitable for all skin types, including those, with sensitive skin. And while exfoliation should not be part of a daily routine, this scrub is gentle enough to be used, say, three time a week. Great product!

Oils of Heaven Avocado Oil (30ml/£19). A new oil from Love Lula’s own brand – Oils of Heaven. I’m a proud owner of all the Oils of Heaven oils and seeing Love Lula launching new oils to ad to an already great selection of high quality carrier oils – another bonus. The new addition is this Avocado oil – a greenish gold fresh Avocado oil, suitable for all skin types. It’s a light and fast-absorbing oil; those with dry skin could use it under makeup as well. It has a typical Avocado oil scent, which always reminded me of bushes and grass somewhere in a forest; some may find it weird, but I’ve been using natural cosmetics and oils and butters for so long now, that I find any of the natural scents fascinating and welcoming. There’s a huge, 30ml, amount of this oil – it should last for at least 6 months (you can also get a 15ml size)! Another great carrier oil from Oils of Heaven!

Pure & Light Essential Face Cream (travel size 15ml/£34 for a full size 50ml). Haven’t had a chance to try anything from Pure & Light until now. This facial cream has a pleasant and gentle scent – between citrusy and ylang-ylang. There’s a ton of ingredients in this one – from carrier oils, essential oils and butters. The texture is light, but this is misleading as this cream is very rich. It may be a bit too rich for those with oily skin, especially during the day, but for a night treat – quite welcoming. This cream is perfect for cold harsh winter when outside – not just as a face cream but as I’ve seen as a hand cream as well. Rich, indeed.

Urbanveda Radiance Hydrating Toner (150ml/£12,99). Ummm… no. The ingredients in this toner are… no, just no. Starting with alcohol denat – alcohol in skin care is a huge no; the alcohol denat – the cheapest alcohol – more than a huge no: it is extremely drying and damaging to the skin. Just… no! Then there’s PEG (PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether). The scent of this toner is very strong and long lasting and very much artificial, thanks to, among others, an ingredient “parfum” as well as ingredients which I’ve pointed out in my reviews of other Urbanveda products (here and here): Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate (an antimicrobial preservative that works by forming formaldehyde in cosmetic products), Hexyl Cinnamal (synthetic fragrance ingredient, associated with allergies), Butylphenyl methylpropional (also known as Lilial, Lilyal, synthetic fragrance additive, synthetic scent ingredient, masking agent. Possible human immune system toxicant and allergen; associated with endocrine disruption, may cause contact dermatitis. Easily penetrates, responsible for long-lasting, powerful scent. Restricted in cosmetics use due to being possible toxicant and allergen), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (also known as Lyral, synthetic fragrance, masking agent. Known human immune toxicant and allergen. Easily penetrates, responsible for long-lasting, powerful scent). No – that’s all I can say about this product.
