With sunny April comes my Love Lula Beauty Box – containing 4 full sized products (a face moisturizer, exfoliator, balm and cream eye shadow) and a pack of 3 samples – it’s worth a whooping £65 (but priced at the fraction)! I’ve had one of the products on my wishlist for a while now, the other – newly launched Balm Balm Rosehip Balm was added on my wishlist when it came out recently and there are two full sized products from a brand I’ve been unfamiliar with so far. All in all – this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box is yet another generous one. Given there are so many full sized products, please keep in mind that this post is only my first impressions of these products – all full sized products from this month’s beauty box will receive a thorough and full review later on.
So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ Inika Cream Eyeshadow Champagne (7ml/£21). I’ve had this one on my wishlist for a while now; especially after trying Inika mineral eyeshadows, which I really like. The cream eyeshadow can be used as a subtle shimmering primer for your eye lids; it spreads nicely and evenly. If you’re going for a bit more color – use a tad bit more of this cream eye shadow and gently dab it. As I have oily skin, the cream eye shadows tend to slide off eventually. I’m really liking this cream eye shadow for a very bright and natural look, with a minimal eye makeup, only to brighten my eyes and combine it with bright Spring blush and lipstick. I’ve also combined this cream eye shadow with Inika mineral eye shadow; they compliment each other perfectly. I’ll post a full review of this eye shadow soon.
♥ Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Balm (30ml/£12). Newly released balm from Love Lula’s own brand Balm Balm is a mixture of their popular Little Miracle Rosehip Serum and their classic balm base, which created a very rich, nourishing all purpose balm. For those with dry skin – you’ll be using this balm as a deeply nourishing and hydrating face balm during the day. Since I have oily skin, I’ll be using this balm as a special treatment, as a nourishing and hydrating mask. As with most Balm Balm products, this balm, too can be used for any dry and in need of special attention places – as a hand cream, as a body balm as well as as a cleansing balm. It has a gentle geranium scent – lovely! Completely natural, containing butters, carrier and essential oils. And very affordable as well! A full review will follow soon!
♥ Dr. Botanicals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser (30ml/£14,90). Before now, I haven’t tried anything from this newly available brand at Love Lula – Dr. Botanicals. In this month’s Beauty Box, we received two products from this brand. The moisturiser is of a rich and quite thick consistency, making me believe it’s going to be more of a nourishing night cream, as there might be a slower absorption. Not quite. The cream quickly absorbs, and leaves a very matte finish, despite containing some butters. I’ve tried it as a makeup primer, and it works nicely as well. I am a bit confused regarding this moisturiser being a water based and not containing (at least this is what the ingredients list says) any appropriate preservatives; it also has a shelf life of 3 months upon opening. As this is only my first impression, I’ll need to dedicate more time for testing and later on posting a full review.
♥ Dr. Botanicals Coffee Superfood Reniewing Facial Exfoliator (30ml/£14,90). The second product from this brand is a coffee exfoliator. Indeed, it’s like your home made exfoliator mix of coffee and oils at least when it comes to scent. A somewhat thick texture with gentle walnut shell powder working as peeling. It’s a non-invasive facial peeling, that can be used at least twice a week; gentle, yet removes dry patches and leaves the skin soft and smooth. The 30 ml tube is also quite affordable. Will do more testing and post a full review soon!
♥ Madara Sample Pack (3 samples). This sample pack contains Madara AHA Peel Mask, Fine Line Minimizing Cream and Cleansing Milk. I’ve been using the AHA Peel Mask for about a year now and I’m really liking this gentle yet effective peel. It works great on an oily and acne prone skin, as it cleans the pores and works as a gentle chemical peel, removing impurities and dry skin, resulting in a refreshed and smooth skin. Look out for a full review soon; but if you can’t wait for it – let me just say – I fully recommend this AHA peel mask. The sample pack also contains a sample of Fine Line Minimizing Cream and Milk Cleanser, which I’ve been curious to try as well, given I mostly use cleansing milks for my eye make up remover. Oh, and in case you’ve missed, Madara has launched, just in time for sunny and warm weather, a sunscreen and CC cream – I’ll have to give these two a try soon.
The April Love Lula Beauty Box was quite generous, wasn’t it? Found any new products? As mentioned earlier, this month’s Beauty Box is worth £65, but you can get the Beauty Box for as low as £14 or so – I don’t think there’s any Beauty Box out there as cheap as far as the cost and so rich as far as the number of full sized products we get every month, wouldn’t you agree? The bonus is you also get a 20% discount on all the brands presented in the Beauty Box. You can sign up to receive your monthly Beauty Box here. Oh, and you can still get the March Beauty Box for FREE!
