Ere Perez Carrot Color Pot – a small pot of multitasking balm – doubling as a blush and lipstick, delivering equally antioxidants and pretty colors.

Ere Perez Carror Color Pot Review

Multitasking makeup balms, in small and cute pots, are popping everywhere; and what’s not to like about them? They are handy, elegant, many-in-one makeup products, delivering not only beautiful colors for cheeks and lips, but also nourishing ingredients. Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots are no different.

So far, Ere Perez offers Carrot Color Pots in five different colors: Harmony, Happy, Healthy, Hello and Holy. With the newly launched colors of lipsticks (and I’d rather not even mention all the colors I have on my wishlist; rarely are there as many lipstick colors from one brand immediately put on my wishlist as is the case with Ere Perez), I am sure Ere Perez will expand the colors of these Carrot Color Pots.

The Ere Perez Carrot Color Pot balms come in a cute and elegant glass pots; might be therefore a bit heavier, but much more eco-friendly and re-usable as opposed to plastic pots.

The Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots contain few ingredients with an emphasis on Vitamins A and E and Beta Carotens; the ingredients provide for a nourishing, hydrating and anti-aging properties.

What’s really interesting about these color pot balms is the contrast between the texture of the balms and the final finish. The balms’ texture is balmy, soft and a bit buttery, whereas the finish, the final look on the lips is, while also very soft, also matte-ish and very light – at no point do they feel heavy or dry on the lips. The color pot balms are also very pigmented – the colors are rich – for some, they may be even a bit too rich, but that can be circumvented by either applying a lip balm before applying these color pots or simply – applying less of a lip balm; true, they are called lip balms, but the richness of these balms is that of a lipstick. These colors pot balms can be easily applied with fingers, but for a more precise application, a lip brush is also an option.

When used as a cheek blush, the Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots also perform nicely. Just as when used as a lipstick, you can apply the balm with either fingers or a brush – though I’d most recommend first applying the blush with your fingers and then gently blend it with a brush. What’s really impressive about this Carrot Color Pot is that while it is of a soft buttery texture, when applied as a blush, it actually acts like a powder blush. I really like the fact that it works perfectly on BB cream/liquid foundation as well as on a mineral foundation; usually, or rather – in most cases, I use mineral/powder blush over mineral foundation. The Ere Perez Carrot Color Pot does not slide, rarely loses its pigmentation power, does not crease and gives a very natural look to the cheeks.

Out of five available Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots colors, I chose the two colors I most prefer in general: Harmony and Holy.

Ere Perez Carrot Color Pot in Harmony is a truly pretty dusty pink; it has that 60s vintage feel to it. Dusty pink, with a very distant hint of a peachy classical nude. When used fully as a lipstick, it can be quite pigmented; the color is very rich and basically the same as it is in a pot. If you might not like the full coverage of this lip balm, you can either apply it sparingly or water it down with a lip balm.

Ere Perez Carror Color Pot in Harmony

When used as a blush, this color pot in Harmony works especially nicely on a bare skin – it gives a completely natural look of a modest blushing, especially on the light skin tone. This color, whether used as a lipstick and/or blush works nicely in combination with a (modest, of course) grey and/silver eye shadow. And a grey nail polish – of course.

Ere Perez Carror Color Pot in Harmony

Ere Perez Carrot Color Pot in Holy is a classical bordo-ish color; a mixture of darkish mauve, with a violet where blue’s % is higher than that of red. As my lips’ color is very close to this color, it looks very natural on my lips. The texture of this lip balm is a bit different from the Harmony one – a bit more smooth and not as buttery, but still very soft. Pigmentation is also a bit less strong, compared to the Harmony one, but nonetheless, still strong.

Ere Perez Carror Color Pot in Holy

When used as blush, the application is easy as well as it spreads easily; of course, given its stronger color, you should be modest with its application. This color is suitable for all seasons; especially for a very natural look, where eye makeup is minimal and the cheeks and lips get more attention. As far as other colors, it works perfectly with golden eye shadow, and – of course, golden nail polish.

A bonus: you can freely mix these two colors and get a new color in as many lighter or darker versions as you wish – both for lips as well as cheeks.

So how about the ingredients? There’s not many and none are questionable.

Ingredients: hydrogenated olive (olea europea) oil, candelilla (euphorbia cerifera) wax, ozokerite, caprylic/capric triglyceride, avocado (persea gratissima) oil, carrot (daucus carota sativa) oil, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E). May contain +/– Iron oxides, CI77019, CI77891.

Olive oil is an antioxidant with high content of essential fatty acids (linoleic, oleic, palmitic), thus great for dry skin and lips. It has soothing and healing properties and is a great moisturizer.
Avocado oil is rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, C, D, E, and Beta Carotene) and fatty acids; it regenerates and moisturizes skin.
Carrot oil, has high content of vitamins (Vitamin A and carotenes). It has anti-aging and anti-septic properties. It smooths and tones the skin.
Tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E). Candelilla wax, ozokerite and caprylic/capric triglyceride are emollients and emulsifiers.

Potentially problematic ingredients? None.

My final word?

Ere Perez Carror Color Pot Review

These Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots are too cute to be overlooked: pretty and very pigmented colors, which can be mixed to achieve new ones, nourishing and antioxidant ingredients… Whether used as a blush or a lipstick, they create elegant and natural look. The packaging is just an added bonus.

Price? It falls somewhere in between when it comes to similar pots – but overall – it’s not very affordable: £21 for 6,5g. But since this is a blush and a lipstick, pigmented and also long lasting, if you’re looking for a cute pot to carry around in your purse, a pot, which doubles as a lipstick and blush – then I am certain you won’t be disappointed with these pots. As always, you should also keep in mind, if you are tempted to compare the prices with some conventional, very cheap pots: the ingredients!

I’m really liking these Ere Perez Carrot Color Pots and I’m sure I’ll add a few more when Ere Perez expands the colors; of course, first, I need to get my hands on their new lipsticks… I’ve been also using several other Ere Perez products, so make sure to check back to see my reviews on this great Australian green beauty brand.
