Ere Perez Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar, a light-feeling face oil, full of antioxidants, promotes a hydrated and naturally dewy complexion, making the oil perfect as a makeup base and even better – a companion for a minimal makeup look.
Ere Perez products have been mentioned on my blog many times now – from individual reviews to skincare routines; ever since I’ve tried this green beauty Australian brand, I keep adding their products to my skincare, makeup and, of course, wishlist collections. Ere Perez are innovative with the products they launch – both with their makeup and skincare products as well as the ingredients they use in the products. There’s been quite a good number of ingredients featured in their products that even I haven’t tried before Ere Perez products had them in their formulations. And one of such new-to-me ingredients was also a Blue Cypress Essential Oil, the star ingredient in this face oil – face nectar, which goes by full name of Ere Perez Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar.
A great formulation of, arguably, not many ingredients, but the ones that are in this serum, work in synergy and boast of many skin-beneficial properties. The Ere Perez Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar comes in a classical 30ml face oil bottle with a dropper. The color of this face oil looks like a foggy/opaque and diluted in oil extract of evergreen tree needles. The scent is between slightly woody due to blue cypress oil and sandalwood oil, slightly sweet due to grape seed oil and with a very distant hint of jasmine – pleasant, which lingers on for only a bit.
The texture of Ere Perez Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar falls somewhere between a thin and thick oil – but feels light on the skin, and even though the absorption is not extremely fast, it evenly settles into the skin after a few minutes – of course, depending on the purpose and thus the amount of the face nectar. I’ve been using the Ere Perez Face Nectar for an array of purposes: in my morning routine before a liquid foundation – on its own or a tiny drop over a serum, in my morning routine for a very minimal makeup look, using only a dab of corrector and cream blush as well as in my evening routines (a more generous amount of it) – on its own or after a serum. Results have been visible in each case: with liquid foundation, the foundation was more evenly spread and finish look more natural and dewy – whether used under foundation or mixed with foundation, likewise when I use the face nectar for a minimal makeup look, when I’m looking for a dewy fresh finish. When used in my evening skincare routine, the skin was calmed, refreshed, hydrated and soft the next morning.
As mentioned earlier, there isn’t that many ingredients in this face oil, but those that are, are very generous with their benefits to the skin.

So, how about the ingredients?
Australian Blue Cypress Wood Essential Oil has as anti- inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-allergic properties due to its Guaiazulene compound.
Grape seed oil is rich with fatty acids and highly potent antioxidants (such as Vitamin E), which lessen the damage of free radicals, as well as Vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin C. Great oil for oily and acne prone skin. Rice bran oil is an antioxidant, rich in omega 6 essential fatty acids; it promotes skin circulation, softens and nourishes the skin,
especially irritated one. Jojoba seed oil is an emollient, natural to skin’s sebum; it soothes the skin and promotes collagen production. Camellia seed oil is a natural source of antioxidants and vitamins like vitamin A and B; it has anti-aging properties, it helps to improve skin elasticity, nourishes and prevents the formation of wrinkles and fine lines. Cedarwood oil has astringent and antiseptic properties. Jasmine flower extract is one of the precious and expensive oils. It has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory, as well as soothing and toning properties.
Potentially problematic ingredients? None.

My final word?
Ere Perez Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar is just another Ere Perez product that impressed me; lovely scented face oil, which hydrates and refreshes the skin and makes it ready for makeup – whether liquid, cream foundation, BB cream or just minimal for a natural dewy look.
The ingredients (and there isn’t a ton of them) work in synergy, delivering hydration while also conditioning and balancing oily skin – however, this oil will work its magic on any skin type.
Price? £27,00 for a classic 30ml bottle. May not be the most affordable, no doubt (though we’ve seen hiked and spiked priced for a few drops of most affordable oils, haven’t we?), but at the same time not unreasonably priced, especially since Blue Cypress Oil falls under more expensive essential oils. Given this face oil is not very thin, a drop or two will cover all face and neck, too. How long could this bottle last? Hard to say, but with a controlled use (meaning you don’t do what I do from time to time: oh well, another drop or three won’t hurt, right?), a drop in the morning and two in the evening, I’d say 4 months?
Another Ere Perez product which comes recommended by me.
