About Us

What you see before you is a labor of many years of gathering information on cosmetic products. As someone, who had suffered from acne prone skin since early teenage years (I’m in my 30s now), I’ve gone on a great journey of studying cosmetic ingredients nearly 10 years ago. Buying everything under the sun which promised everything under the sun on their packages, only to find my skin in an even worse condition, I nearly gave up on cosmetics. Nearly. The moisturizer left me with flaky skin and acne. Foundation only temporarily covered what it itself caused with comedogenic ingredients a day earlier. A toner dried my oily prone skin with bad alcohol ingredients. Anti-acne product left me with sensitive dry skin and more acne. I was at the point where I firmly believed that my skin is beyond repair, that nothing would work, regardless of the promises printed on packages of well marketed products.

Never did I think of actually looking at the back of the package and pay attention to what a product was actually made of! I know! Ingredients! Well, once I started reading the ingredients lists, I found myself hardly even able to pronounce them, much less understand them. So, a quest for understanding ingredients started. One ingredient by one, I started learning they were the ones leaving my skin with more acne on one hand, and dry and sensitive skin on the other. I started with eliminating products which contained typical comedogenic ingredients, then bad alcohols. Without exaggeration, I started noticing small but visible changes on my skin a month later. But I still had a long journey ahead of me.

Then I started researching ingredients which were, on the top of it all, toxic! By this time, I was quite versed in which ingredients to avoid as far as them being comedogenic and irritating. Now I started adding toxic ingredients to the list I should avoid in my beauty products. Soon, I found myself lost as to which product I should even buy. So I came to the logical conclusion: natural organic products only! But, back then, there were not as many natural organic brands available as they are today, and certainly not as easily available as they are today. I’d comb the internet to find one specific product (and in most of the cases, the stores did not even ship internationally). I was bookmarking the stores, I was copying the ingredients, I was writing down the natural organic brands and the wishlist with the products was getting longer.

The sites, dedicated to organic living and then to organic beauty started popping up. More and more pertinent information was to be found, but I couldn’t find a site which would have all the information I needed. I needed a comprehensive list of ingredients (good and toxic), I needed to know which organic certificates to look for on my beauty products. I wanted to have a list of as many natural organic brands as possible in one place, and most importantly – where to buy them. And I wished all this information to be available on one site – it would be way easier!

Thus – Nature of Europe!

While still a work in progress, and will forever remain a work in progress, I’ve put untold hours into this project you have before you today. A place, where as much information about natural organic beauty products is as handy as it can be. A go to place, a comprehensive guide for everything you need when buying natural organic products: natural ingredients, toxic ingredients, brands list, store directory, tests&reviews, you name it.

Nature of Europe, this comprehensive guide for everything you need regarding natural organic products, has a list of nearly 300 ingredients, a store directory with nearly 700 stores (and more are being added regularly) from all over the world (but with the main emphasis on European stores – over 500 European stores) which sell natural organic products, a directory of over 200 natural organic brands and where to buy them. And that’s just for starters! As this site grows and follows the dream and passion I have, you will find even more important information, from tests and reviews of the products on.

So, what can I say about my skin nearly 7 years later after I started using natural organic products only? Sure, I get an occasional acne a few times a year (and take care of it in a matter of few days), but my skin is smooth, well fed and moisturized – healthy and glowing looking skin. I have a satisfactory (well, not really, but you know, hehe) amount of natural organic make up, even though I use make up far less and less often now that my skin is healed and healthy. Considering the fact that natural organic cosmetics sells are steadily growing each year, as more and more people come to the same conclusions as I did, these times are really exciting times for those who love (and know why we love) natural organic beauty products: never had there been such an array of natural organic beauty brands and products to choose from as it is today.

And Nature of Europe will be here to report on all the exciting developments in the world of natural organic cosmetics! Hopefully, you will join us on this journey of ours!
