The month of March has nearly ended, Spring is in full swing – many reasons to be more positive, despite the continuing situation in the world, and despite my personal hurdles I keep on jumping over, yet I am far from where I should be – that’s the reason why I haven’t been as active on my blog as I wish I could have been – plans are a plenty, creativity has never been in question, but this situation I am dealing with will take a while before I am able to be myself again. And Love Lula Beauty Box, which arrives every month, is one of those things that brings a smile to my face. I think the Beauty Boxes this year have been quite interesting, wouldn’t you agree? This month, there are 4 full sized products and one sample sachet; the products range from hair care to skin care category. The total value of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box is £43,00, but with a yearly subscription, you can get it for a fraction of it.
So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ Sukin Rehydrating Gel Cream (60ml/£17,95). Such hydrating gels are a perfect choice for hot Summer days – whether used alone or a a base for layering other products. There may be some confusion re: the consistency designation of this product- cream or gel? It’s a clear water-based gel, which quickly absorbs, making it a great choice for morning skincare routine. The finish is matte and smooth and the gel feels very light. The ingredients used as preservation are most certainly not a perfect choice, tho. Aside from that, given we’ve received two other gel-based products in our Love Lula Beauty Boxes (Madara gel and Green People Gel Serum) and since I like gel-based products, especially during hotter days, maybe a review-comparison sounds great?
♥ Giovanni Frizz Be Gone (81ml/£7,99). I started using Giovanni hair products somewhere between 13-15 years ago, as they were good and affordable and I’ve managed to try quite a few; likewise, I’ve gotten quite a number f questions from my readers over years about Giovanni products – hopefully I’ll be able to create collection of Giovanni products from Love Lula and present a review for you. As far as this product – and this is, I think, the first time Giovanni has been featured in Love Lula Beauty Box – it’s a nicely scented serum for hair – a serum, which can be used on dry or wet hair. The gel-like consistency of this product makes for an easy application. When used on a wet hair, it aids to an easier management of hair: easier to comb through. It makes the hair shinier, it “glues” the ends, making them controlled. When used on dry hair, use far less of the product, to pat down any runaway hair. I’d advise to use as little of the product as possible because too much of the product tends t make hair greasier – a very little product is needed anyway to achieve good results, and with a generous amount of the serum, along with a low price point – you’re gonna like it.
♥ Ayui Neem & Tea Tree Face Mask (100ml/£6,99). With 100ml, there’s a lot of product in this tube. The mask is of a runny cream consistency, it applies easy. It contains quite a few ingredients which deal with oily and acne prone skin, such as tea tree, rosemary, neem, zinc, kaolin. I leave it on for about 10 minutes – the mask disappears into the skin fairy quickly. I rinse it with warm water. I’ve tried it only a few times so far – it does smooth out the skin, there’s a bit of a drying effect present as well. There’s quite a lot of preservatives in this water-based mask, preservatives, which are also irritating. But all in all, this mask doesn’t seem bad, I just can’t say I’d put it on my re-purchase list. The price is affordable, tho.
♥ Balmonds Skin Salvation (30ml/£7,99). Calming and non-irritating balm, made of calendula, hemp seed oil and chamomile. It may be used to calm down irritated skin, as well as as a nourishing balm – I mainly use it under m eyes, during night, as it gently feeds my delicate skin. Reasonably priced, too.
♥ Madara City CC SPF15 Cream (sample sachet). *sigh* With every Madara sample I get in my Love Lula Beauty Box, my Madara wishlist gets longer – and I just can’t keep up with all the Madara products they launch and I want to test. This CC cream with SPF15 has been on my wishlist for a long time now… I do hope I’ll manage to get it in time for Summer… Oh, just a suggestion: why not include the sample sachets of all the products mentioned in this booklet?
So this concludes my first impressions of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box. The theme of this month’s Beauty Box is “gel-based” with 4 full sized products: a hydrating face gel, a hair serum gel, a balm/ointment and a face mask and one sample sachet of a CC SPF15 cream. A quite useful and versatile Beauty Box, wouldn’t you agree?
And all these products have a total value of £43,00 whereas the actual cost of the yearly Love Lula Beauty Box subscription is £12,66 (or £16,60 for international customers) per month (yep, even less than it was before). You also get a discount on all the brands featured in a current Beauty Box for 20% off!
