October is traditionally one of the most beautiful months – the art created by God and Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. As far as beauty goes, this October has not been any different; the beauty, the escape into the forest, has been monumental and of a great importance, given the situation all around the world and on the top of it all – me, spraining my wrist and my ankle while picking up chestnuts. Being in pain and immobile for a while makes for a fertile ground for frustration and occasional spicy cynicism, but not to drag it on for too long, as there are still and always too many good things in life. Starting with receiving a monthly gift in a shape and form of Love Lula Beauty Box. And it is a gift – even if peaking and sneaking around to see what’s in it before it arrives, it still feels like a gift. The contents of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box cover many categories, from body care in a form of deodorant and body hair cream, to skin care in a form of best selling rosehip serum – perfect for upcoming Winter and a sample of hydrating face gel, and finally to makeup in a form of lipstick. The total value of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box is £55, while the actual cost when signing up for a yearly subscription is barely worth mentioning.
So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?
♥ Balm Balm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum (3oml/£15,50). Thanks to Love Lula Beauty Box, I’ve now had a chance to try many products from this Balm Balm’s best selling Little Miracle line. This serum is quite rich in its consistency, making it a perfect choice for upcoming colder Winter days – to be incorporated into my evening routine as well as a tiny drop used in the morning. The scent can be, from time to time, quite strong, yet quickly disappearing. I just like how fed and nourished my skin looks in the morning, after applying this serum the previous evening. Another great aspect of this serum is its affordable and reasonable price of £15,50 for 30ml. A more detailed review of this line is something I have in plans for a near future.
♥ Moi Vert Natural Deodorant (60g/£9,95). Moi Vert is a new brand available at Love Lula. They have several deodorants available, including the fragrance free one which I received, making me place their floral one on my wishlist (I am writing a mega deodorant article as it is, and it seems it’s a never ending one, so the deodorants from this brand are just another added ones). I am very picky when it comes to deodorants, for many reasons – whether they irritate my very sensitive underarm area, whether they actually deliver the promised effect of deodorasing and, if not fragrance free, how good they smell. When you open this glass jar, it looks like there’s shea butter in it, and it smells like that, too (I’ve always liked the smell of raw shea butter) – and the texture is not much different, meaning you have to swirl around the deodorant to melt a bit in order to grab enough of the product. It’s then easily spread on the skin, where it rather quickly just – vanishes, but leaves a very delicately smooth feeling on the skin and absorbs some of the moisture. The smell remains the same – that of a shea butter. I’m intrigued and after getting at least the floral one as well, I’ll report back to you with a full review. Price? It falls somewhere in between with a nearly £10,00 for a 60ml jar.
♥ Emani Hydrating Lip Color Lipstick (8g/£19,00). I think this is my third product from Emani brand (eyeshadow and mascara) – a lipstick in a color of Ava: a foggy, muted, burned pink with a hint of non-glittery copper and a tiny distant amount of mixture of orange and brown. Or something along those lines, hehe. The texture of this lipstick is quite soft and creamy, and the lipstick has a pleasant and gentle scent. Price? With £19,00 for 8g? Not the most affordable, but not outrageous either. Emani has quite a rich selection of lipsticks for you to check out.
♥ Laidbare Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow (125ml/£10,00). I’ve received the big tube of this product back in my January 2018 Love Lula Beauty Box. I cannot report on the hair-growth inhibition, but I can say it helps minimize bumps and redness after shaving. Though, one could argue this product is more of a Summer one, I’d say we shave all year long and there’s a lot of the product in this tube, which will easily last till next Summer.
♥ Antipodes Baptise Hydrating Water Gel (sample; full size 60ml/£29,99). A quite interesting hydrating water gel; while maybe more suitable as an alone moisturiser during hotter day, it can easily be used in a combination with other, richer products during colder days.
So this concludes my first impressions of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box. The theme of this month’s Beauty Box is “care from head to toe” with a mixture of creamy lipstick, newly available at Love Lula deodorant, the best selling rosehip serum and a gel to help with hair removal issues and a sample of hydrating face gel.
And all these products have a total value of £55,00 whereas the actual cost of the yearly Love Lula Beauty Box subscription is £12,66 (or £16,60 for international customers) per month (yep, even less than it was before). You also get a discount on all the brands featured in a current Beauty Box for 20% off!
