Hello greenies! How have you been? Hope you had a peaceful and cheerful Easter; so much to be thankful for, so much to be grateful, isn’t it? A moment for feeling the mercy and grace in one’s soul and the feeling and hopefulness that everything is gonna be alright. There but for the grace of God, go I!

April sure has been living up to its reputation, hasn’t it? This week, one day I was walking barefoot around my country house, enjoying the therapy of the juicy and soft Spring grass, feeling like it was June already, while the very next day I was wearing a coat o_O and there were rainshowers. But seeing how everything in my garden is growing and my fruit trees and flowers are blooming, rain is OK, too.

Today starts the anniversary of those weeks, where I’m gonna be reliving, even moreso than usually, the weeks, days, hours and minutes of the tragedy, yet I know, as I’ve always known, with faith and God walking with me, holding my hand, I will get through these days. As you’re reading this, I am already immersing myself in Spring gardening around my country house, with the obligatory hip hopping around my beloved forest later; I am looking forward to giggling at the birdies being their silly courtshipping selves, even if the giggles will be interrupted by an occasional tear. Cleansing, I guess.

In case you’ve missed, I posted my first impressions of April’s Love Lula Beauty Box. I am also pondering of creating another series… and have tons of other ideas, I just need to marinate on them a bit. I never run out of ideas, creative thoughts. I just run out of 24 hours every day, hehe.

As you’ve grown to expect, I’ve collected a ton of great deals from around the green beauty world for you: there’s so many great discounts, not to mention free organic beauty gifts waiting for you bellow! Actually, I gotta mention at least one: a FREE Beauty Bag worth €140. Yep, all of that and much more bellow for you to check out!

April, with its “can’t make up my mind whether to act like warm June or chilly like November” is slowly coming to an end, but before April waves goodbye, my first impressions of this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box are in order. Love Lula has, again, crammed up the goodies up to the brim, with 3 full sized products, one travel sized one and a few samples: a mixture of body and face care products. As per usual, I’ve had a mini tantrum, seeing Love Lula has launched their new Spring collection of Glossworks nail polishes and dropped one in their non-international Beauty Box; the international Beauty Box received, instead, an eye cream. The total value of this Beauty Box is £63,00, but with signing up for a yearly subscription, you can get it for almost not worth mentioning cost.

So, what’s in this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box?

Love Lula Beauty Box April 2019

Alteya Organics Chamomile Water (120ml/£7,95). Not too long ago I too advantage of Alteya discount and got the newly launched 240ml bottles of their high quality hydrolates; one of them was also the Chamomile one. Getting another bottle of the Chamomile hydrolate in this month’s Beauty Box? Don’t mind if I do! I go through hydrolates like there’s no tomorrow as it is already (and have been for decades!), so… The Chamomile hydrolate from Alteya is another high quality and non-watered down (in more than one way) product; even its distinct powerful scent of chamomile attests to the high quality chamomile essential oil this hydrolate is a by-product of and the concentration of chamomile essential oil presence. Chamomile has calming properties, along with anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and astringent properties and is a potent antioxidant. The hydrolate can be used as a toner, before and after applying skin care and makeup products, as well as for continuing daily refreshment. You can’t go wrong with a hydrolate, just make sure it’s of a high quality and actually a – hydrolate (as in: not water with a few drops of essential oils or even worse – fragrant synthetic oils).

Mossa restoring Eye Cream (15ml/£13,00). For those who may not have known: Mossa is a more affordable brand under Madara umbrella. International customers received this eye cream instead of a Glossworks nail polish. This eye cream comes in a pump plastic bottle of a standard amount for eye creams: 15ml. I reviewed Madara eye cream a few years ago, and the Mossa eye cream, in comparison, given it contains no butters, is of a lighter and thinner texture. It spreads easily and evenly and also absorbs quickly; makeup application and/or concealer application over this eye cream gives no issues. As I prefer lighter eye creams for during the day (and thicker and richer during the night), this makes for a great choice for daily skincare routine. This eye creams contains berries and various other antioxidants, as well as a hydrator in a form of Sodium Hyaluronate, all of which are important for the under eye care. The scent is also pleasant, but only after the scent of alcohol evaporates – and this is my issue with this eye cream (and Madara products in general) – their use of too much alcohol in their products, which comes to light especially when it’s used in products for such delicate and in a dire need of hydration areas such as gentle, thin skin under the eyes. Even if thinner in its consistency as compared to the Madara eye cream, the Mossa eye cream works well regardless, and is also substantially more affordable. I’ll keep you updated on this eye cream with either a full review or with a skincare routine (long over-due and much requested!) post.

Love Lula Beauty Box April 2019

Gallinee Body Milk (200ml/£28,00). This is a very light, thin body milk /lotion. It spreads easily and absorbs fast, leaving no greasy stains, making it a a good choice for hot Summer days as well as for after morning shower. It does leave the skin soft, almost velvety. It also smells nice, but the problem is – the scent is not of a natural source. Despite its good performance and nice smell, I have an issue with this body milk ingredients – there’s very little natural ones, and too many synthetic ones, including a few I am anything but fond off, such as propanediol and  ethylhexylglycerin, to name a few. And despite there being a standard for body milk/lotion 200ml of this body milk, and despite leaveing the skin soft and smelling nice, the lack of natural ingredients and a surplus of synthetic ones makes this body milk way too expensive.  If, quickly, compared to the Madara Body Lotion we got in January’s Love Lula Beauty Box, the Madara one is far more natural and about £11,00 cheaper – for the same 200ml.

Dr. Botanicals Lemon Rescue Butter (50ml/£19,00). All those, who enjoy citrus scented beauty products might like this one; however, those who like beauty products, which are naturally citrus scented – you might pass this one up. Why? The source of the potent citrus scent in this multi-use butter is citral: a fragrance and masking ingredient, which can cause contact dermatitis and irritation; it can be also toxic for immune system. Not a great ingredient to be found in a beauty product, wouldn’t you agree? While it’s said this butter, which has consistency more of a thicker cream, can be used as a face moisturizer and cleanser, I would have skipped this and maybe use it as a body butter or on extra dry and cracked parts, such as elbows or feet. Though I do like the Dr. Botanicals tubes.

Kimberly Sayer Sample Duo in Gentle Face Cleanser and Restore Anti-Ageing Cream.

So, these are my first impressions of the goodies from the April Love Lula Beauty Box. It was a mixture of body and face care, nearly all the products being either full-sized or travel sized. A few of the products have ingredients which I don’t care for, but over all, I’m glad I got a new eye cream, as I was running out of the the other ones, another bottle of a hydrolate is always a plus for someone, who uses so much of them. The body milk, even if there are some ingredients that do not correspond with a formulation of natural and non-problematic ingredients, smells nice and is feels light on the skin.

Love Lula Beauty Box April 2019

And all these products have a total value of £63,00, whereas the actual cost of the yearly Love Lula Beauty Box subscription is £12,66 (or £16,60 for international customers) per month (yep, even less than it was before). You also get a discount on all the brands featured in a current Beauty Box and even this discount got even better – now you can get all the brands featured in a Beauty Box for 25% off!

How did you like this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box? Got any products you’ve had on your wishlist? Found any new brands or new favorite products? Let me know!

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation, formulated with 32 active ingredients, is a creamy cleanser, which thoroughly cleanses the skin and removes makeup, while gently exfoliating with its sporadic yet effective crushed almond exfoliators.

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

Last Summer, I received a sample/travel sized Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation in my Love Lula Beauty Box. Even upon just a few uses, I knew I need to get a full size of this creamy cleanser – I was that impressed: a gentle cream and non-foaming cleanser, which quickly but also thoroughly removes makeup, including eye makeup, while also gently exfoliating the skin and leaving it soft. The ingredients, and there’s quite a lot of them, are also impressive. One of the best cleansers, makeup removers I’ve tried so far – and don’t ask me how many I’ve tried so far!

The Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation comes in a 50ml airless pump bottle, which means the product will not get contaminated – a very important factor when it comes to natural cosmetic products. Given this cleanser contains many ingredients, including many essential oils, its scent falls somewhere between floral and berry and buttery – non overpowering, yet pleasant.

The texture of this cleanser is like that of a mid-thick velvety cream, but with a sporadic exfoliators in a form of tiny crushed almonds. Even though this cleanser is water-based, it does not feel cheap or watery; in fact, it’s like a light, but thinly whipped butter, with an abundance of added vegetable and essential oils, all rich in an array of vitamins A, C, D, E and F.

Given Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation is so gentle and soft as an exfoliant, it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive as well as those, who suffer from acne: the tiny crushed almonds are here and there, yet still effective enough for this product to be used as a gentle exfoliant, even several times a week. The cleanser does not irritate the skin, does not leave it red, making it a great choice for a morning skincare routine as well.

While exfoliation is a must in my skincare routine and I have a few exfoliators, which are permanently on my cosmetic shelf, I did not get the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation for the (sole) purpose of exfoliation, but the fact it’s such an effective cleanser. First, it’s a non-foaming cleanser, meaning it won’t dry out the skin nor will it irritate it with, even gentler, foaming agents. Even if I don’t use layers and layers of makeup, I need a cleanser which thoroughly cleanses my skin in the evening, but does so without adverse effects on my skin.

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

Pure&Light says you should first splash the skin with water; instead, I spray a hydrolate all over my skin, then massage the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation all over my face, leaving it on my skin for about a minute, massage again and then rinse it with water. The end result makes this product not only a cleanser and gentle exfoliator, but also a nourishing and revitalising cream – as the skin is so soft and nourished with the many skin-beneficial ingredients; great for the days, or – rather – evenings, when you go to sleep without any products on your face and just let the skin be, since you’ve already cleansed, gently exfoliated and nourished the skin with this product.

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

Now, I know it says not to use this cleanser and gentle exfoliant on your eyes, but I had to give it a try anyway. I ordinary use an Alverde milk to remove my eye makeup, as my eyes are pretty sensitive to many of the makeup removers, even eye makeup removers. I know the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation contains tiny crushed almonds, so I understand the warning against using it as an eye makeup remover, but as mentioned, I had to give it a try after I was so impressed with how deeply, quickly and gently it removed makeup. Using just my fingers, I gently massaged the cleanser all over my closed eyes, and in a matter of 10, 15s, the eye makeup was melted and I just washed it off with water! So effective, so gentle and with no irritation at all! Given how difficult it is for me to find an effective and non-irritating eye makeup remover, I decided to save the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation to be used as an eye makeup remover. Sure, I do indulge in using it as a cleanser and gentle exfoliant for removal of makeup and sometimes even in my morning skincare routine, as it cleanses the skin and gently exfoliates, making the skin a perfect, smooth and soft canvas to apply other products on, but all in all, I am saving this one for removal of my eye makeup.

My final word?

Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation Review

The gentle exfoliant, which is in fact an effective creamy cleanser, suitable for any skin type – from being so gentle and velvety for the sensitive skin type, to being suitable for oily skin due to its many anti-bacterial ingredients, the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation took me by, pleasant, surprise upon trying the travel size – I had to get the full size. This gentle cleanser boasts of an impressive ingredients list, making it an antioxidant treat, along with vitamins, fatty acids and many other skin-beneficial ingredients. The part where this gentle creamy cleanser also plays the part of a gentle exfoliator, is an added bonus. Given how much I enjoy the effectiveness of the cleansing part, maybe Pure&Light could come up with the very same formulation, sans the exfoliants and make this only a cleanser.

Price? £28 for a 50ml bottle – which is not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination, especially if you use the Pure&Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation as a cleanser and not only as an exfoliator a few times a week. But given the performance, formulation and ingredients list these £28 entail, I still, very much so, recommend this great product.

Hello greenies! We’re firmly in Spring, but with April, here come the rain showers! It’s been a bit chilly and rainy these past few days, but the beautiful bright green colors of Nature waking up and blooming trees overpower cloudy canvas. With working around my country house and in the garden, it doesn’t feel so chilly anymore – that’s what an honest day of work will do, hehe. Seeing my fruit trees blooming, the beautiful meadow flowers and the birdies and mice and deer being all silly in the forest – how can one not feel blessed?

Seems like my rant, about the shameless thieves, a couple of weeks ago, created quite an inspiration with you sharing with me your opinions and thoughts, even if the thoughts were shared only in private: yes, it is rampant and yes, it’s not easy dealing with seeing one’s hard work, knowledge, ideas, creativity being stolen and profited on. A few of you pointed out a well known fact to me, whether I’ve noticed a certain thief waits for me to post my monthly post about something before she posts it and copies nearly everything I’ve written. Yes, I have.

On a positive note – have you heard about some famous what’s-her-face’s fake views on Instagram being knocked by Instagam from 1 billion to about 8 million? So many bought followers, likes, views – all across the board. It’s not just some wannabe green beauty bloggers, who decide to buy, say, 4000 followers in one Februray 2018 day, for example. Have you noticed how certain “beauty gurus” on Youtube “all-of-the-sudden” went from 600K views to a 30K? Ran out of money to purchase views numbers? Youtube docking fake views? There’s so much fakery all around, yet beauty businesses still haven’t caught up to it and are kissing behinds and paying for marketing on these channels, Instagram profiles… while genuine, honest ones are overlooked.

Anyway, the discounts and free beauty gifts I’ve collected from around the green beauty world this week for you left me dizzy – there’s so many huge discounts and sales going on and a row after a row of free gifts along with it; not to mention all the new launches! If you plan on doing some shopping this weekend, maybe save a bit here and there, or see your fav brand or a product on a sale – or even offered as a free gift – then you’ve come to the right place! Just remember – don’t buy just because it’s on sale, or if you already have too many unused products!
