Hello greenies! It’s Friday and it’s sunny – but man, where has the week gone? This week has been hectic as heck, hehe. Barely had the time to be still for a moment. Given it’s been raining for so long, I dropped everything and ran to the forest during the week, but that means I have to cram in everything else on days which follow. But I’m not making any apologies when it comes to dropping everything and stealing a few hours for myself, and I need to keep doing more of this. I had a nearly finished review of a BB cream waiting to be posted, but nearly finished has never been good enough for me, so the review will have to wait a bit longer.

This week, I received an encouraging news – my blog has been chosen as one of the top 100 organic beauty blogs in the world – what a pleasant surprise this is! For my work to be recognized for what I aim it to be – offering a high quality content, based on many years of acquired knowledge and experience in the field of organic beauty – and doing all of this with integrity, creativity and originality. Even if the numbers, on the surface, do not attest to this, I know the position of my blog where it counts the most. Quality and integrity withstand the test of time, no doubt.

On a slightly different note – some businesses are still fishing in muddy waters when it comes to proposing collaborations. In year 2017, we, the bloggers, still get proposals, whose currency is – exposure. We get contacted as experts in our fields, and our expertise is suppose to be paid in – exposure. Because with this currency I can surely pay, say the servers and what not. When I get such proposals, I am never quite certain whether such businesses actually have such a low value of themselves or us, the bloggers. If you think someone is a valuable and competent expert, then you should pay accordingly. But if you think you can get away as some type of fraudster, who is looking for quality service and not pay for it – then look elsewhere. You think you’re doing the bloggers a favor, by offering us exposure for our hard work and knowledge? No; you found us, didn’t you – so we already have exposure, and I am certain whatever you’re doing, you’re not doing it for free, so where does the audacity, to expect us to work for free, come from? The problem? I am certain some bloggers will jump on it, thus lowering the value of other bloggers.

So, what’s in store for this week’s edition of deals in green beauty? A truck-load of discounts and free gifts, of course. Just a word of advice – do not buy something because of a discount – get it if you ran out of this product or if you’ve had this product on your wish list for a while, but reckoned it’s too expensive.

There’s a FREE September Love Lula Beauty Box (read my first impressions of the box); and I have to say, Love Lula’s free gifts are in a category of their own. Many stores offer, say, a few samples for large purchases, whereas Love Lula gives substantial free gifts with much lower purchases. Just had to point this out. Check all the deals below!

Hello greenies! It’s officially Autumn, even though it’s been kinda chilly, not to mention rainy, for quite some time now. Summer abruptly said goodbye, though this week, there have been a few sunny days, and I quickly escaped into the forest. Patiently waiting until I make that move, so I’ll be able to go to the forest and be surrounded my nature 24/7!

Is it just me or have the endless, non-informative daily routine posts finally started to lose steam? Goodness gracious, every where I’d turn, there’s another AM and PM and whatnot routine. How many times do you have to see the same shuffled products? And yeah, I am waiting for Instagram to knock the bought and paid followers, just like Twitter used to do on a regular basis – I am curious to see what the reaction (if they’ll even notice) from certain brands will be. But then again, if you think sponsoring a newly popped blogger, who is clueless but has the ability to gain (read: pay for) 4000 followers in one day and posts endless and mindless skincare routines, is a great marketing approach, then fakeness (read: business fraud) should not bother you that much.

Oh, and pushing 15 products to be used on the skin at the same time?! A post on this travesty is in order, wouldn’t you agree?

Such “bloggers” are part of the problem why legit bloggers receive insane business offers as well – not to mention lack of any culture and manners when it comes to corresponding with bloggers. What they are willing to pay and what they expect in return is down right insulting and makes for such brands and PR business to be anything but respected.

Yes, this installment of discounts and free gift posts is just another aspect of my blog which unoriginal and non-creative hacks had to copy. And I ponder… for some, pushing 50 (years) and still haven’t managed one creative, innovative bone… Needless to say, you won’t find such thieving hacks to officially follow me anywhere, but they do hang onto every word…

So, since it’s weekend, I’ve gathered another great collection and selection of great discounts in case you need to do some weekend shopping and get a free gift along with it. I’d like to point out you can get two beauty boxes, a pink and a green one for free with a purchase, just scroll down for all the info!

Sep 202017

Yep, another month has rolled over, and with it – this month’s Love Lula Beauty Box. It contains a nice selection of various skincare  and body care products – from lip balm, to all-purpose balm, a bath truffle, a few sample sachets, a cleanser and – depending on your location – either a sample set of Walden Natural Perfumes or a sample set of Oils of Heaven oils.

September’s Beauty Box is worth £45, however, with a subscription to Love Lula’s monthly Beauty Box, you can get it for the price of one product in the box – from £13,95 on. With the Beauty Box comes also a discount code of 20% on all the brands from the current Beauty Box as well.

As you know, this is only my first impressions review – a few of the products will receive a detailed review post later on.

So, what’s in September’s Love Lula Beauty Box?

Love Lula Beauty Box September 2017

Esse Gel Cleanser, 10ml tube: given my skin does not response well to foam-based cleansers, I mainly use oil-based cleansers. But, given the ingredients, I thought this cleanser might be different, as it contains one of the most gentle foaming agents – Coco-Glucoside, to which my skin does not react negatively. Again, this is only a first and quick impression of the cleanser: it has a minty scent (those, who are allergic to minty essential oils, such as peppermint and spearmint – this cleanser might not be the right choice for you) due to minty essential oils, which also give the fresh and a bit tingly feeling. The foaming is quite minimal – which I prefer anyway – and the texture is more of a creamy foaming – hope this makes sense. After massaging a small amount of the cleanser, I rinse it off with warm water. This cleanser thoroughly, yet gently, removes makeup and any other impurities. Contrary to many foaming cleansers, this one leaves the skin soft, non-irritated and not dried. The bonus is this cleanser contains Salicylic Acid, an acid great for oily and acne prone skin. I’ve already had a few Esse products on my “to try” list, so needless to say, my interest was peaked to try the full size of this cleanser – it comes in two sizes – 100ml and 200ml. And that’s one of the charms of Beauty Boxes – they introduce you to the brands and products you may not have noticed or had them on a wishlist but never quite managed to give them a try yet.

Hurraw! Sun protection Lip Balm – can you ever go wrong with the Hurraw! lip balms? I’ve already reviewed a handful of Hurraw! lip balms here, and in short – I am a big fan. This lip balm is another great one from the Hurraw! brand – it contains an SPF 15, and it’s a treat for lips – so creamy, so soft and smells awesome – a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of vanilla, a little bit of a citrusy scent and a distant chamomile scent – yum! I can never have enough Hurraw! lip balms, and this one is just another great addition to the group.

Joik Bath Truffle – for a chocolate addict, not taking a bite out of this truffle is quite a success. Haven’t tried this one yet, but I tend to use it for my Sunday baths – this truffle will come handy, many times over, during winter days (though, quite honestly, it feels like winter already, with this cold and blah weather). Going just by the first feel, this truffle is a buttery treat for skin. I’ll keep you updated once I give it a thorough try.

Balm Balm Beauty Balm full size 60ml – heavily rich and nourishing beauty balm, that can be used for basically anything – as a cleanser, facial mask, mild exfoliator, hand cream, body balm, lip balm… you name it. Lovely scent, with lavender being prevailing. It would be too oily to be used as a daily moisturizer, especially for oily skin, although maybe even for dry skin – but – if you have any dry patches – go for it. I’ve already reviewed the Balm Balm Rose Collection, which also includes an all-purpose balm; this balm is pretty similar. Generous amount of an affordable multi-use balm.

Kimberly Sawyer multi pack samples – haven’t given them a try yet, but since I’ve aquired quite a few samples of this brand, and haven’t tried them yet, I’ll reserve a pampering spot for these samples to see how my skin likes them. Aside from these, Love Lula carries a wide selection of samples to try before you buy a full sized product.

Oils of Heaven Gift Set of the following oils: cacay oil, moringa oil, marula oil, rosehip oil and moringa oil. There’s 5ml of each of the oils- This gift set can be used as a gift, you can use the oils while traveling or for mixing them into your own personal facial oil. I’ve already reviewed the cacay oil and moringa oil and I’ll review a few more in the future. The gift set itself is worth £20.

Walden Natural Perfumes Gift Set for UK residents only (unfortunately; but I plan on getting my hands on these cuties eventually, since I like the Two Eternities so much); the gift set contain 5ml of all the Walden Natural Perfumes. I’ve reviewed the Walden Natural Perfumes “Two Eternities” Perfume a while ago, and mentioned, how I wish the perfumes came in smaller sizes – one for carrying it around in a purse and a set of sample sizes, so we can test all of them (as the full size of the perfumes may be a bit too expensive to just try them) – and – what do you know – just a few weeks later, Love Lula (Walden Natural Perfumes is Love Lula’s own brand) came out with a travel sized 15ml spray perfumes, to carry them in a purse, as well as with this gift set of 5ml of each of the perfumes so we can all test them. As mentioned earlier, this set was included only in the Beauty Box for UK residents.

Hello greenies! Boy, it’s been rainin’ buckets this week. As it looks another weekend will be rainy, so I had to make a quick escape during the week and take a full advantage of one sunny and warm day to wonder around the forest, even though it was a hectic and busy week, and still is! Just dragged my behind home and said I have to share this week’s awesome offers: Love Lula has some insane discounts this week, even up to 50% off on certain brands and, of course, a truckload of free goodies to chose.

This week’s evenings, despite being insanely busy, have been reserved for – European championship in basketball. It’s all bitter-sweet; I used to watch basketball games with my beloved, and now… Oh, we had such good times, and how I miss us, spending time together, watching basketball. As soon as I post this, I am going to prepare myself for tonight’s game and what looks like a dream final game on Sunday for me – I’ve been waiting for this for so long!

In case you’ve missed, I reviewed RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder this week, and for the next week, I’ve got at least one review in store for you, so make sure you check back soon! But for today, all the great sales and free gifts with purchase are waiting for you bellow!

RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder is a finely milled loose powder, offering a medium coverage, while leaving the skin silky soft with minimized pores.

RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder Review

I get a lot of questions from my readers about the RMS Beauty products; while I’ve been going back and forth between curiosity and “man, it contains coconut oil” when it comes to the RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up (review soon!), I was quite eager to try the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder. I’ve been a big fan of mineral/loose foundation for well over 10 years now, and seeing how RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder contains only, basically, two ingredients, I had to give it a try.

While most of the mineral foundations I’ve been using all these years offer quite a substantial coverage, the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder falls somewhere in a weak medium to medium coverage. I guess the name itself should be a hint – the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder primary function is not great coverage, but to even out the skin tone, to control the shine, to make the skin appear silky and to minimize the pores – and the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder does all that.

During hot Summer days, I always prefer (an even more) minimal makeup – a bit of a concealer here and there and, applied with a light and loose hand, mineral foundation. As it is the case during Summer, my skin appears like a rainbow: a bit of redness on my nose, a little bit tanned here and a little bit pale there… so getting the right color of BB cream, foundation, whether it’s mineral or liquid (though wearing liquid foundation during Summer is a very rare occasion for me), is quite a task of mixing and matching. And I’ve been having quite a few “that’s too dark/that’s too light” situations with RMS Beauty concealer and powder foundations; the first “un” cover-up was too dark, the first tinted “un” powder too light. Fabulous.

So now I have two RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powders – one in color 0-1 and one in 2-3: the 2-3 on its own is too dark, while 0-1 can be, sometimes, too light. As you can imagine, the best color for me falls somewhere in between, depending on the day, so I mix the two to find the best color option. There’s another color of RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder available, and that’s the darkest one 3-4.

During this super hot Summer, a thought of wearing anything heavy on my face made me itch. So the only products I applied were primer, a bit of a RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up concealer and – RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder. When it comes to applying RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder, I alternate between the cute powder puff that comes with the tinted powder (great for traveling!) or eye kabuki; I apply the powder with a very light hand, mostly on oily parts of the skin, as it nicely mattifies the skin, but does not make it look dry – except under the eyes – this is where more moisturizing products and an even lighter hand when applying the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder are a must.

The RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder is extremely finely milled, so much so, it appears like dust. The final result is that of a super soft skin, which looks silky, with a matte finish. With the right amount of powder, the final look is not cakey, but if you go overboard with the amount of the powder, it can look a bit cakey. The RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder controls the skin oil quite well – it holds up for about 5 to 6 hours for me before the oiliness sets in.

The coverage is a weak medium – sometimes, even barely there, but the role of the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder is not coverage, but the non-oily, minimized-pores and silky skin look. Having said that, this is still tinted powder (for a non-tinted ” powder, RMS Beauty offers colorless version of RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder), so the right color of this powder is still important. If you find either of the color variations from RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder the perfect color for you – that’s awesome; but I have to mix various ratios of colors 0-1 and 2-3 to find the right one for me.

I did have a bit of an issue of how to get the powder out of the pot, especially since the holes are quite small – so the best way for me is to gently (so that the powder doesn’t go “a flying”) press on the sifter with both thumbs, until the right amount of powder appears – if I apply the powder with a kabuki brush, then I tap the powder on the lid and swirl the kabuki brush and if I use the powder puff, then, instead of tapping the powder on a lid, I just gently press the puff all over the sifter.

Word of advice? Don’t throw away the sticker covering the holes; the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder sifter does not twist in order to cover the holes, so I put the sticker back on the holes before closing the lid in order for the powder not fly all over the pot.

So how about the ingredients? There’s only two in the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder: silica and iron oxides. Silica is a mineral composed of silicon and oxygen. In makeup, its function is that of an anti-caking agent and texturizer. Iron oxides are colorant minerals.

Potentially problematic ingredients? None.

My final word?

RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder Review

The RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder is an elegant, simple ingredients-wise face powder, whose only a small amount gives the polished final look – it controls the shine, minimizes the pores and looks and feels silky. The coverage ranges from minimal to medium, though with a better coverage, you risk a bit of a cakey look. The RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder proves you don’t have to throw many (and sometimes even toxic) ingredients into a product to achieve a great finish. It can be used alone (but not without a moisturizer or a primer – at least not in my case, even though I have combination and oily skin) or in any combination with tinted moisturizer, BB cream, foundation – when you need to control the shine or just want that final touch of a setting powder.

The price? With around €36 for 9gr pot, it’s a bit up there, no doubt. But given the primary role of the RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder is not coverage and given how very little you use it for one application – these 9gr will last for a very long time. It can get a bit more tricky, cost-wise, if you have to buy 2 different colors to mix and match, but since this is a product, made solely of minerals, the shelf life of such products is… nearly… well, until you run out of them, so even if you have to get two different colors, you don’t have to worry about the product going bad.

The RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder comes very much recommended by me!
