With 23 different scents and flavors, everyone can find their favorite Hurraw! Lip Balm to nourish the lips with all natural ingredients.

Hurraw! Lip Balm Review

Lip balms – is there ever enough of them? Lip balms are one of those beauty products I can’t do without, and with natural beauty industry offering a myriad of natural lip balms and the joy that comes from testing as many as possible, there are also some which find their way to me again and again, periodically or sporadically.

I can’t quite tell you when was the first time I tried the popular Hurraw! Lip Balms – though I do know it’s been many years ago. And while hopping from new and never tried before lip balms, The Hurraw! Lip Balms always found a way to be in the mix, somehow.

With a simple formulation of lips-beneficial natural ingredients, the biggest draw to Hurraw! Lip Balms is the fact they come in 23 different flavors and scents – trying the new ones while also having the favorite ones handy – what’s not to like?

The Hurraw! Lip Balms are, more or less all of them, very soft and kind to the lips, providing a great amount of nourishment and hydration.

Over the years I’ve tried quite a many of Hurraw! Lip Balms – with my favorite being that of a vanilla scent, as this scent (in other lip balms as well) really suits me. The one I was looking forward to try was the rose one, which came out a while ago.

Today, I’ll review 5 different flavors of Hurraw! Lip Balms.

Hurraw! Vanilla Bean Lip Balm – as mentioned before, this one flavor is the most consistently used by me and has been for many years now. The scent is that sweet vanilla scent – and if you like vanilla scent in your lip balms as much as I do – believe me, you’ll find yourself re-purchasing this Hurraw! Lip Balm over and over again.

Hurraw! Green Tea Lip Balm – this one may be a bit less oily as compared to the vanilla one, yet still makes the lips soft and nourished. This scent is another one I’ve been re-purchasing over the years – though a green tea scent might be a bit faint and tagging along the more pronounced sweet scent. So lovely!

Hurraw! Lip Balm Review
Hurraw! Tinted Cinnamon Lip Balm  |  Hurraw! Papaya Pineapple Lip Balm  |  Hurraw! Vata Lip Balm  |  Hurraw! Vanilla Bean Lip Balm  |  Hurraw! Green Tea Lip Balm

Hurraw! Vata Lip Balm – I immediately bought this one a while ago when it came out. The biggest reason? It has rose flower oil as one of the ingredients; on occasion, it seems the scent wanders into a geranium scent – and believe me, if you’re looking for a flowery, rose scented lip balm – you’re gonna really like this one. This one will also remain one of those Hurraw! Lip Balms I will continue buying.

Hurraw! Papaya Pineapple Lip Balm – I may not have (at least not now) purchased the fruity scented lip balm, as I am more inclined toward vanilla, green tea and of course – rose – scents, but after this scent arrived in my Love Lula Beauty Box – I’m glad it did. The scent is unmistakably summery – tropical, fruity and sweet. While it may not have an SPF, it’s perfect for the beach. I think this one would be also perfect for little girls.

Hurraw! Tinted Cinnamon Lip Balm – another one I’ve bought more than once in the past – the first thing I can tell you about this lip balm is that it’s a perfect winter/Christmas lip balm – it has that lovely cinnamon scent – and while it can be a bit on a stronger side – I don’t mind it at all. It’s tinted and gives a very subtle and sheer red color to your lips. One thing that should be pointed out is that it tingles a bit – due to cinnamon. And given its subtle color – it’s another one for which would be perfect for girls. As for the ladies – a great choice if you’re looking for a subtle red color on your lips during the day.

So, how about the ingredients?

Basically, all the lip balms contain the same ingredients; the only variations are based on individual scents.

The ingredients found in Hurraw! Lip Balms:

Sweet almond oil is an emollient; promotes smooth and soft skin lips. For itchy, irritated skin. Coconut oil is rich in vitamins and fatty acids. It’s nourishing and promotes smooth skin and lips. Jojoba seed oil is an emollient and emulsifier. It contains skin/sebum identical ingredients. It’s a great moisture-retainer and lubricant. It smooths and softens the skin and lips. Cocoa seed butter is a rich butter, high in Vitamin E. It promotes collagen production.

Castor seed oil is a thick oil with high fat content. It’s a water binding agent, thus ideal for very dry skin and widely used in lip balms. Olive fruit oil is an antioxidant with high content of essential fatty acids (linoleic, oleic, palmitic), thus great for dry skin and lips. It has soothing and healing properties and is a great moisturizer. Sunflower oil has a high content of unsaturated fatty acids. It is rich with Vitamin A, D and E. It spreads easily and is quickly absorbed. It’s an antioxidant and moisturizer. Sesame seed oil softens the skin and lips. Hemp seed oil is extremely high in polyunsaturated fatty acids; rich with linoleic acid and omega-6 and omega-3 essential fatty acids.  Closely mirrors skin’s lipid profile. Regulates skin’s moisture.

Individual lip balms each contain some of the following:

Vanilla bean (in Vanilla Bean lip balm) is antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It smooths the skin and lips. Cardamom seed oil (in Vata Lip Balm) has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. Ashwagandha root powder (in Vata Lip Balm) has nourishing properties.  Green tea leaf powder (in Green tea lip balm) is a potent antioxidant. It has astringent and antimicrobial properties. Papaya seed oil (in papaya Pineapple Lip Balm) is an emollient with anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It softens and smooths the skin and lips. It is rich in omega 9 essential acid; high content of oleic acid.

And Rosa damascena rose flower oil.

Potentially problematic ingredients? None.

My final word?

Hurraw! Lip Balm Review

It’s not wonder that Hurraw! Lip Balms are so popular – they contain all the lips-beneficial ingredients and come in a variety of flavors and scents; the scent of these lip balms lingers on for quite a while and while the scents are pleasant, they are not overpowering. The application is easy and smooth, and the result is hydrated and nourished soft lips. The lip balms are less waxy and more oily; they are not thick nor sticky.

The Hurraw! Lip Balms also come in a generous amount and last for quite some time – even if your lips are as fond of lip balms as mine and thus application of lip balms is more frequent.

The price? It varies based on individual stores, but moreso based on the country – however, given the lovely scents and nourishing ingredients – the price, which is around €5 – is quite acceptable.

Hurraw! Lip Balms are one of those balms which I’ve been buying for years now, and I don’t see this changing any time soon.

How about you – have you tried Hurraw! Lip balms yet? Which is your favorite scent? Let me know!

Hello greenies! It’s been a while… The past few weeks have been quite trying for me, with the anniversary… So I kinda hibernated, distancing, as much as it was possible, from the outside world. A bit of a retrospective, one could say, though not too much, as I am not equipped yet to traverse the deeper waters of emotions.

Where had the past year gone, is beyond my comprehension. I don’t know, is this how the time flies in a world unknown to one? The emptiness is, still, surreal, still threatening to consume. But here and there, every now and again, there’s a speck of light coming through. Yes, I have faith and hope, and I keep on holding on, keep on going, even if only in my wishful mind – it is a start, right?

And in the midst of contemplating the heaviness of reality, another piece of my youth had been chipped away. With a somewhat cynical half-smile, I accepted the news of Chris Cornell’s passing. It wasn’t that long ago (in fact, when the tragedy that will soon come started to appear) Scott Weiland passed. This time around, my soul is too full of sadness and mourning – there’s simply no room left for more. But somewhere, maybe back in my mind, it made my knees weak. Just another disbelief. Scratching for the remaining pieces of my youth… In a way, it’s unbelievable, how after more than 25 years, all the lyrics and melodies are still here… printed in my mind. The soundtrack of my life… or at least – a part of my life which now seems so… far away… RIP Chris.

I just had to disappear for a while – thus no discounts post last Friday. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a review – and boy – there are so so many products I cannot wait to share the reviews of with you, my lovely readers. I couldn’t back up writing with appropriate energy and dedication – and if I can’t give you my best – I won’t even attempt to throw together some words and call it a day. But here’s a quick and very much partial list of the products whose reviews I’m going to offer you in the upcoming weeks: lip balm, lipstick, mascara, BB cream, primer, perfume, …

But for today, I’ve gathered discounts and free organic beauty gifts for you – since there’s a bank holiday in UK, the shops are offering some pretty cool discounts – in case you’re planning on some green beauty shopping.

May 122017

Hello greenies! How have you been this week? Enjoying the Spring so far? We’ve had some pretty hot weather in the past few days – who’d say no to warm Sun, right? You’ve probably noticed there was no review this week – I couldn’t find the time to squeeze it in. Hopefully, next week will be a bit more giving when it comes to time, so I can share with you one of many reviews – and believe me – there will be many many more.

I am dreading for this weekend, and the days to come after. I’m scared of that day approaching, as it is such an unfamiliar territory – I am not aware of how to deal with this fact, I am not sure where this past year had gone. And sometimes, I don’t even know what happened. The pain is still there, sometimes it feels unbearable. As with many things regarding this situation, I am torn between crawling into bed and disappearing for the world and, on the other hand, getting lost in the forest.

I’m not gonna rant this week; just a quick update.

Bellow, you can find this week’s green beauty deals – just in case if you need something. And remember – do not fall for materialism – your value as a person will not be any higher if you have all 100 latest highlighters. But in case you did run out of your favorite green beauty product – then grab one of the deals bellow.

May 052017

Hello greenies! Meh, what rainy and cloudy these past days have been. I’d like some Sun, even though I know that the soil was in a dire need of water. With that day fast approaching, I am feeling the burden of reality more and more and it shows, even more, on my health. I’m trying as much as I can to somehow get myself together, and there are moments, when I feel things might have started looking brighter, only for one memory to throw me back where I had started. On some level, I always knew this is gonna be a long hard road, but sometimes it seems I had no idea how how hard.

Strange things are happening in green beauty blogging community. I am still amazed at the ability to speed test and review (use quotation marks anywhere you want) products, as well as businesses being impressed by this; not to mention being impressed with (all the bought) social media numbers, heh. At the same time, I am also very impressed with the “new” approach, all of then sudden, of previous speed-testers, now claiming how much time they take to thoroughly test the products. I guess it takes a few weeks to feel the chakra vibrations, or something, coming out of a cleanser before they can give a proper (read: raving) review. Do you feel as lost as I do in all of this?

I guess, for some, it must be hard, watching all those beauty guru videos, where they (quickly) test 145th highlighter (I mean, if the marketing trend says you have to walk around all shinny like a disco ball and look like you forgot to wipe your nose) in one week, at one point in time, you’re gonna have to start conditioning your readers how there’s this negative scare within the green beauty community regarding – wait for it – ingredients, who just might be – toxic, and how you shouldn’t really feel bad if you, say, slap a formaldehyde-containing nail polish on your nails. YOLO and stuff like that, you know? Oh, it’s all about positivity and not scaring people off. I thought it was about giving experience and knowledge to our readers. I’m not really sure how to convey that certain ingredients are actually detrimental to one’s health aside from – saying so.

Strange things, I tell ya.

You know what? I can see, especially more expensive natural beauty brands, starting to sponsor these big Youtube beauty gurus one of these days. Can you imagine, some artificial looking beauty guru, who just raved about, say, Elf brand, slathering a €300 natural cream on one’s hand, saying: oh, come through, this feels so soft?

And the green beauty bloggers, who do not have 4 million bought subscribers, will fall to the side.

Strange things.

Anyway, that’s that for this week’s rant. Bellow, as you’re used to, you’ll find a collection of this week’s discounts and free gifts with purchase – just in case you need a new green beauty product. Love Lula has a FREE Try Me Box (just got one with my order myself) – thought you might wanna know.

Greenfrog Botanic Body Wash offers a medium lather and a pretty strong citrus scent, while Greenfrog Botanic Hand Wash gently washes your hands, leaving them soft.

Greenfrog Botanic Body Wash and Hand Wash Review

Greenfrog Botanic is a brand I’ve been unfamiliar with until the Greenfrog Botanic Body Wash and Hand Wash arrived in my Love Lula Beauty Boxes.

With Greenfrog Botanic products, everything revolves around  soapberries, grown sustainably in the mighty Himalayan Mountains of the East, where for centuries they have been used for washing. These magical berries, used in Ayurveda medicine to treat soft, sensitive and dry skin.

Greenfrog Botanic Body Wash

First I’ll review the Greenfrog Botanic body wash in a neroli & lime scent, which reminds me of squeezed lemon’s juice, when you’re making a lemonade – the scent is quite strong and if you’re not a fan of citrus scent, and I can’t say I am, it may be a bit off putting. The scent itself, after using the body wash, lingers on for about an hour, but it’s not nowhere near as strong as when you open the bottle. The body wash, given it does not contain harsh foaming agents (though it still contains less harsh foaming non-natural agents), does not offer a strong lather, so in order to achieve that feeling of cleanness, quite a bit of the body wash is needed. The Greenfrog Botanic body wash leaves the skin quite soft and there’s no feeling of the skin being stripped of it’s natural oils.

How about the ingredients?

Ingredients: Aqua (water), Potassium Cocoate, Lauryl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit Extract*, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Powder*, Parfum (Fragrance) :Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil, Citrus Limonum (Lemon) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Oil, Levulinic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid. Citronellol**, Geraniol**, Hexyl Cinnamal**, Linalool**. *Certified Organic Ingredient **Naturally occurring within essential oils. 0% Paraben 0% SLS, ALS 0% Phenoxyethanol

The body wash contains foaming agents, aloe vera and citrus essential oils. Aloe vera offers moisturizing properties.

Bergamot oil has astringent and antiseptic and is widely used in perfumes. Lemon oil has astringent and anti-bacterial properties. Bitter Orange oil has antiseptic properties; it rejuvenates the skin and stimulates circulation.

Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit Extract – soapberry – has cleansing properties.

The following ingredients are not natural (even though they are derived from coconut oil), which work as foaming/cleansing agents: Potassium Cocoate, Lauryl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside.

Potassium Sorbate and Levulinic Acid are preservatives.

* * *

Greenfrog Botanic Hand Wash

The second Greenfrog Botanic product I’ll review is their hand wash, in the scent of geranium & peppermint. The peppermint falls back, leaving the geranium to take the main source of scent – and I like it. The role of the peppermint is, of course, to uplift and refresh – and it does.

The Greenfrog Botanic hand wash, similarly to the body wash, offers a medium leather, and a creamy finish, leaving your skin soft as well. The scent lingers for about an hour, and it is that of geranium. When it comes to cleansing – it does a good job.

The ingredients of the Greenfrog Botanic hand wash are basically the same as in the body wash, only the hand wash contains geranium and peppermint essential oils.

* * *

Greenfrog Botanic Body Wash and Hand Wash

My final word?

The Greenfrog Botanic body wash and Greenfrog Botanic hand wash are pretty simple products – there’s not much complication with the ingredients and while containing a few foaming agents, which are not natural, they also contain a natural ingredient, which has cleansing properties itself – the soapberry.

The scent of the body wash may be a bit strong, but for those, who enjoy citrus scent, this might be a great choice; I myself prefer the scent of the hand wash and the body wash comes with the geranium scent as well.

Both washes fall somewhere in between when it comes to foaming; the downside of this is you need more of the product. The good side is that both of these washes leave the skin soft and do not dry the skin.

Price? These products are quite affordable – a 300ml body wash is around €9, while the hand wash is around €8. And you know what? You could totally get only the body wash and use it as a hand wash, too.

* * *

Have you tried the Greenfrog Botanic products yet? How did you like them? Let me know!
