Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream Review Ingredients: Rosehip Seed Oil (Rosa moschata), Organic Golden Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Organic Beeswax (Cera alba), Raspberry Seed Oil (Rubus idaeus), Organic Pomegranate Seed Oil (Punica granatum), Rose Otto Essential Oil (Rosa damascena), Organic Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Cananga odorata), Lavender Essential Oil (Lavendula angustifolia). Limonene* Linalool* Citronellol* Benzyl Benzoate* Geraniol* Benzyl Salicylate* Farnesol* Eugenol* Benzyl Alcohol* Isoeugenol*   * Natural constituents of the essential oils used in the product (especially Ylang Ylang!).

Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream is, as far as the ingredients go, Akamuti Replenishing Rose Facial Oil’s cousin. The texture of this cream is very thick and oily, and the scent is nearly identical to that of a rose facial oil, just that it’s not as strong, and with a bit of a pomegranate scent going on – nice smell at any rate.

The spreadability of Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream is pretty easy, but due to its thickness, it does not absorb quickly. I have combination to oily skin, and despite using only a tiny amount of the cream, my skin did not absorb it to the point where shinning would not be visible anymore. And that saying “little goes a long way” would be an understatement with Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream – really – only a tiny amount will cover your whole face and neck. While Akamuti lists it as a moisturizer, and the cream does have ingredients promoting hydration to the skin, this cream, due to its rich texture, is much more nourishing. I use it only before sleep, and my skin looks really fed and nourished the next morning. It would be excellent for dry skin, even though I wouldn’t recommend it to be used before foundation, even for dry skin.

Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream The ingredients, as previously mentioned, are nearly identical to Akamuti Replenishing Rose Facial Oil. Rosehip Seed Oil is rich in essential fatty acids; it promotes cell and tissue regeneration. It is an excellent anti-aging oil, with anti-bacterial properties, and a great oil for oily skin. Jojoba Oil is a sebum identical ingredient, with very moisturizing properties, which smooths and softens the skin. Raspberry Seed Oil is a potent antioxidant with antibacterial and anti-acne properties. Ylang Ylang Essential Oil balances the skin by normalizing sebum production and has anti-irritant and anti-aging properties. Like Jojoba oil and Ylang Ylang, Geranium Essential Oil also balances and regulates oil and sebum, thus being great for oily and acne prone skin, as well as for dry and mature skin. It has anti-inflammatory, astringent and antiseptic properties. Pomegranate Seed Oil is a potent antioxidant, high in essential acids and Omega5. Lavender Essential Oil has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. And – the precious Rose Otto Essential Oil.

Beeswax can be comedogenic.

Potentially problematic ingredients? None. Benzyl Benzoate and Benzyl Alcohol for example, as listed, are natural constituents of the essential oils.

* * *

My final word?

Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream is a rich and nourishing cream, great for daily use for those with dry skin and the skin in a dire need of nourishment. For those, who have combination, and especially oily skin, I would suggest using it a few times a week – more like a nourishing mask, really. I did have a bit of a congestion feeling with this cream, but that is due to beeswax, so those, who suffer from severe acne and/or who know that beeswax is comedogenic for their skin, I would rather suggest Akamuti Replenishing Rose Facial Oil.

And you know what? You can easily use this cream for hands as well – try it and you’ll see your hands nourished and soft in the morning.

Just as Akamuti Orange Cleanser and Scrub, the cream comes in a 50ml plastic container, and I strongly suggest you keep this cream in a refrigerator. The cream contains no preservatives and it says its shelf life is 6 months, but given how little of the cream is needed, I think this cream will last you way past 6 months.

Price? Approximately 19€ for 50ml, which is very affordable. Would I buy it again? You know, I’d much prefer a 30ml container, even for the same price, as this cream really goes a long way, and given my oily skin, I use it more like a mask, so I am certain I won’t use up half of it by the time 6 months come around. The cream is very nourishing and leaves the skin soft. With affordable price and very nourishing effect, I can see why it’s a bestseller!

Akamuti Organic Honey & Chamomile Lip Balm Review

I seem to never have enough lip balms, and I go through them even faster than I go through hydrolates.

Akamuti Organic Honey & Chamomile Lip Balm Review Akamuti Oragnic Honey & Chamomile Lip Balm is a treat for my lips! Love it! It has a gentle scent of chamomile. It is so nourishing and makes the lips so soft! It feels very light as well. It looks a bit glossy on the lips, like you’re wearing a clear lip gloss. The lip balm contains all the right ingredients you’re looking for in a natural lip balm: honey, cocoa butter, olive oil and soothing chamomile. I was a bit surprised how long this lip balms lasts (I’ve been using it for the past 3 months! – , and I have around 3 weeks left of this lip balm), especially since I’ve been generously slathering it, oh heck, probably 20 times a day – at least, and it seems this will be the only Akamuti product I will use before its shelf life expires!

Now, here’s the problem. Imagine, I’ve been dipping my fingers into this container quite a lot, so I would really love if Akamuti poured this awesome lip balm in a lip tube. I know I’d be stacking on the lip balm tubes!

Price? Around 5€ for 15ml. Yes, another super affordable product from Akamuti. Would I buy it again? Absolutely yes, I am really loving this little thing! But, as I said – I am apprehensive about dipping fingers into beauty products on a daily basis – or as in the case of the lip balm – at least 20 times a day. Do I recommend Akamuti Organic & Chamomile Lip Balm? Without a doubt – 100%!

* * *

Have you tried Akamuti Replenishing Rose Face Cream? And if you did, how did you like it? Do you go, like me, through lip balms the way you drink water?

Alorée CC Cream Review Ingredients: AQUA (WATER), HORDEUM VULGARE (BARLEY) SEED WATER*, GLYCERIN, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), VITIS VINIFERA (GRAPE) SEED OIL*, GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL*, MAGNESIUM SILICATE, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), HORDEUM VULGARE (BARLEY) LEAF EXTRACT, POLYGLYCERYL-3 STEARATE, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, TRIHEPTANOIN, GLYCERYL DIBEHENATE, GLYCERYL BEHENATE, TRIBEHENIN, SODIUM LEVULINATE, TOCOPHEROL, XANTHAN GUM, CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), PHENETHYL ALCOHOL, SODIUM ANISATE, CITRIC ACID, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), MONOSODIUM CITRATE

So far, I’ve reviewed one BB Cream and one DD Cream, so now it’s time for a CC Cream review –  the Alorée CC Cream.

Just like Alorée Skin Elixir, the Alorée CC Cream is also based on Alorée’s prime ingredient Barley Leaf Extract. The Alorée CC Cream comes in two sizes: a 13ml travel/sample size and regular 40ml size. I was sent a 13ml tube for a review.

The scent of Alorée CC Cream is also interesting and very similar to that of Alorée Skin Elixir: a little bit of a cut spring grass scent and more of a sweet smelling scent, whose source, most probably, is grape seed oil.

If BB creams are of a more thicker consistency and have less coverage, CC Creams are suppose to be of a more liquid consistency and have better coverage – color correction abilities. The Alorée CC Cream is,  indeed, of a more liquid consistency. Application turned out to be quite a task, since the CC Cream dries quickly, which in itself may not have been that big of a problem had Alorée CC Cream not been flaky and cakey upon application, unfortunately, even with one layer. The coverage unfortunately is not as promised either, so with one layer looking flaky, another one would only make things worse. While the liquid consistency does not call for being used after moisturizer and/serum, I tried both – to no avail – the flakiness remains. Knowing in advance the result, I tried using it as a primer under my foundation and that did not work well either.

Alorée CC Cream Review As far as the color goes, I am used to being moody when it comes to finding a foundation or tinted moisturizer that would be right on target, as well as being used to natural foundations and tinted moisturizers, having their colors based on minerals, going a bit darker after a while upon application, Alorée CC Cream changed its color way too dark for my liking – it actually turned quite orange-y as well as turning too glowy. As far as promised coverage? Well, there’s some, but most certainly not as much as promised or as you’d expect from a CC Cream. This CC cream does have a light feeling on the skin and has moisturizing abilities, but, this is not suppose to be just a moisturizer, but a coverage correction product.

It should be also noted that SPF of this CC Cream is only 6.

The ingredients? Somewhat all over the place. While there are natural and skin-beneficial ingredients in this Alorée CC Cream, there is also quite a lot of synthetic ingredients, some quite problematic, but all in all – too many of them for this product to be called all natural. When you have over 20 ingredients and only 4 natural, along with minerals (titanium oxide and iron oxide) such a product could hardly be called natural.

Grape Seed Oil, a great moisturizer, is rich with fatty acids, as well as highly potent antioxidants (such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin C). It has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties. It tones the skin, helps fighting aging of the skin and promotes skin’s elasticity. Olive oil is, especially due to squalene, a potent antioxidant, with anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties; it smooths and softens the skin. Chlorophyllin Hordeum Complex, a Barley Leaf Extract is a potent antioxidant, a oxygenating phyto complex protecting the skin from premature signs of aging.

Dicaprylylis an emollient which provides for easy spreadability and for leaving a velvety feel on skin without seeming greasy or slick. It also helps other ingredients penetrate skin better. Glyceryl Stearate Citrate is a lubricant; it gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance, but there’s a strong possibility it’s comedogenic. Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate is an emulsifier and an emollient. Triheptanoin is a viscosity increasing agent as well as penetration enhancer.

Sodium Anisate is an antimicrobial preservative, derived from fennel. There’s not enough data at the moment regarding the effects it has on the skin.

Potentially problematic ingredients?

  • Magnesium Silicate, an absorbent and anti-caking agent, is the primary component of talc, whose main problem can be asbestos contamination. When in liquid formulation, talc poses less harmful effects as opposed to talc in powdered form, as it is not inhaled.
  • Fragrance/Parfum. As mentioned in my Alorée Skin Elixir review, I am not certain what the source of this ingredient/s is, and since I didn’t receive a response from Alorée when writing skin elixir review, I didn’t bother contacting them again.
  • Hydrogenated Lecithin is an emulsifying agent. There are some concerns over its carcinogenic properties and its ability to penetrate the skin.
  • Sodium Levulinate, an antimicrobial preservative, derived from levulinic acid (corn). There are some inclinations this ingredient to be an irritant, even at low doses, whoever, at this point,  there’s not enough data regarding potential effects it has on the skin.

Alorée CC Cream Review

* * *

My final word? After testing Alorée Skin Elixir I had high hopes for Alorée CC Cream. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me: from difficulty with its application and flakiness, to turning too dark after application, as well as with coverage not being as promising. And even when there was no immediate flakiness, after a while, the CC Cream started looking like it fell apart, kind of like if you quickly mixed mineral powder with moisturizer, when minerals and cream just do not agree to stick together anymore. Given the many ingredients, which are suppose to make this cream appear silky and smooth on the skin, and it doesn’t – I am not certain what went wrong here. Maybe someone else might find this CC cream their perfect CC cream, unfortunately, I did not have such experience myself.

Price? Around 18€ for 13ml, which I think is excessive, and 41€ for 40ml, which, in my opinion, is also too much – performance aside – but also given the ingredients it contains.

* * *

Have you tried Alorée CC Cream? Have you liked it any better than I did? Which is your favorite natural CC Cream?
